hi,
i started the couch to 5k this morning ( have been brisk walking, swimming and weekly zumba for a while) anyway, was doing the last 60 sec jog and i felt a 'ping' in the side of my ankle and i had to stop straight away. have done some reading and i think that i have sprained my ankle, so i now have it strapped up. it is painful to walk on. i was really starting to enjoy my exercise for the first time ever.
Has anyone else had an injury like this ?? how long do you think before i can be up and exercising again?
Many Thanks :D

Recovery times will vary from person to person depending on how much weight they carry. I honestly wouldn't risk rushing back (probably not what you want to hear). But you mentioned you swim however, I suggest that you swim whenever you can whilst your ankle is sore.

Hey,

Sorry to here you are out of it for a while :-( there's nothing worse than being motivated for something and not being able to do it!

Rest is the best for ankle injuries. I'd also surgery getting some proper running shoes to minimise the risk of injury when you are "up and running" again. They are quite expensive, but are well worth the cost . You can go to specialist running shops and have your gait analysed and they will recommend different goes depending on how your foot lands etc. There is a place in Leeds called "Up and Running" who are really helpful.

Hope your ankle is better soon so you can enjoy this lovely running weather! :)
