Feeling disapointed and if its worth it (weigh in)

Don't worry about other people... take care of yourself, and trust that this plan really does work... I am averaging less than a pound a week, but I know all I have to do is carry on... because I WILL get to my target eventually.

Same here- although with obvious pressing time constraints I wish it was coming off faster! Grrr. I have slogged and slogged the last year and have come out with 'just' a 10Ib loss so far. But that's all fat and it's gone, and it's not coming back.

So don't give up- slow and steady wins the race :D

I know how easy it is to compare yourself to others - i go to class with my friend H and she has lost nearly 7 stone!!! I have lost just over 4 stone in a longer period of time.

I started at over 18 stone, and i am currently around the 14 stone marker...its taken 15 months - so approx 1lb per week. Dont think that slow is wrong - slow can be a great thing. I dont have masses of excess skin, i exercise now (something that horrified me before) and i hope to get married in a 'normal' dress size this year.

You can do it - dont give up!!! esp as you have a free GP referral - 12 weeks free classes have been GIVEN to you - so do not waste them, they are a luxury some of us dont have.

Good luck and stick with it.

Raquel, I've only lost 3lbs in 2 weeks too..so you are not alone..I understand how you feel..I had hoped for more, but I'm reassuring myself that there is more chance of me keeping it off if I do it this way, and really thats the main thing.

I know a lovely lady who is doing a no carb diet, similar to atkins, and she's lost half a stone (or more, I forget how much exactly) in 2 weeks..now I know how depressed I felt with my measly loss when I read that this morning, but having thought about it she can't sustain that way of living, so the crunch will come later for her when she has to eat more normally..whereas with us we could continue to maintain the loss with this way of living indefinitely...so..slowy slowly catchee monkey, chin up and lets cheer each other on! xx

what an irispartional post, i started dieting 3 years ago, although i've lost 8.5, and still have 52lbs to go, was beginning to feel negative, however this post has put everything in place, and made me think, i'm about 3/4 way to my goal. Stick with you're plan, and remember, the slower it comes off, the better it will stay off. Good luck hun you can do it:D

Wow Maclynn you have lost LOADS!! Well done for keeping at it long-term! It's definitely the way to do it for long term success and to keep it off!! 3/4 of the way to target is fantastic- I'm sure that this time next year you'll be there, and we all know how quickly a year whizzes by!!X

I have tried various diets, then something has gone wrong (gained, or had a blow out and thought I'd blown it etc) and kept thinking what's the point... and every time I did that I would gain back what I had lost plus extra - after a year I was 4 stone heavier!

This time, this is a lifetime thing, something that isn't a fad, something I can do and still live my life. Ok, so some weeks I might not have great losses, but I have steadily lost most weeks and it does add up.

This is only your second week and there could be all sorts of reasons why you haven't had a good loss and it could catch up with you next week.
