Hi guys and girls,
I am starting to count my calories tomorrow as 13st is the heaviest i have been in a while (i used to weigh 18 stone) and i need to nip this in the bud.
I am using My Fitness Pal, but it sets me at 1200 calories a day. Just a question, do i eat my exercise calories or just stick to the 1200, i exercise about 4 times a week, sometimes more. Just need to get started on the right path. Sophie
 
I generally eat some or all of my exercise calories back. I generally exercise every day first thing in the morning. Therefore it gives me room to eat more if I ger peckish throughout the day and 1200 cals isn't enough.
 
There's no set 'rule', so do what feels best for you. Personally I wouldn't go as low as 1200 without eating exercise calories back but some people prefer not to. At the moment I'm eating quite a bit more than that (and exercising) and I'm losing weight - I'll cut my calories again at some point but I'm being flexible about it just now because that's what works for me :)
