Loves the Nom Nom!!!
We're looking to go on an aeroplane next year :character00255:

somewhere nice and warm in June but not too warm. It will be our first time abroad so we have no idea where to go.

we will have a 4 yr old with us and OH isnt fab with really hot sun!

I suggested Corfu, he suggested Lanzarote, Tenerife and we've been discussing it.

Where else would people suggest?

It all depends what you want to do when you get there. Do you want to relax in the sun or go walking. Do you want a kiddies club.

Do you want to go where lots of brits go or would you like somewhere where there is a mix of nationalities.

If you want somewhere were brits go I'd do something like Benidorm, but I've never been & it's not somewhere I'd go to myself.

I do love greece, the people are nice & friendly & it will be hot but not too hot.

I think Lanzarote & Tenerife may be too hot.

I didnt want to offend anyone but we ruled out benidorm. I may aswell go to blackpool again if we go there!

We want a mix, we'd like to be able to sit on the beach, whoch i've heard lanzarote doesnt have much of with the volcano etc, and we'd also like to walk around.

I've explained to OH that Lanzarote and tenerife will be a lot hotter than Greece, i ended up googleing the average temp at 11.30pm in bed :giggle:

what about Menorca and Majorca?

I've never been to Menorca and Majorca.

Lanzarote has beaches but I do think it will be too hot.

In June we've been to Greece, I've been to Thassos lovely island but you fly to the mainland & then ferry across which isn't too bad. Also been to Kefalonia, Zante, Olympia, & Stoupa, but I wouldn't recommend Stoupa without a car.

What puts you off Corfu?

We went to Lanzarote once in June and my son got burnt. Another year we went to Crete and that was too hot for him too.

What about somewhere like Majorca or Ibiza? It should be a bit cooler than the Canaries.

Northern Croatia? The southern end will be baking but the north (Istria) not so bad and has coast, nice historic little towns, lovely food.

I shall approach him on Croatia! You never think of these places :)

Happy Holidays, nothing puts me off Corfu, its him indoors! :giggle: He thinks its too far to go for a first holiday but i think its perfect.

we have been to salou 2years running it was lovely in june although have to say we are not planning a 3rd time it was good for our first family hols, lots to do for the kids and the water and theme parks are really good

I shall put that idea to him. I mentioned Croatia last night but he wasnt enthusiastic about it :( he did mention Majorca again so it may be there we go to a quieter bit :)

We used to go to Majorca when the children were young had some really lovely holidays there

Must admit I'm biased, I live on the Southern Costa Blanca, near to Torrevieja, we love living here. We have communal pool, lovely beaches, water park, ten pin bowling (casino!), go karts, fun fair in Torrevieja. Some great restaurants.

Hi Sue,

Glad I found you on here...I'm going to Torrevieja on Sunday!

My boyfriend's parents have a house there, so we're all going for a nice week away. I'm determined to be 100% SW while I'm there though, as I want to lose 3lbs over the next fortnight.

Can I buy cottage cheese in Spain? I'm taking some pasta n sauces with me and am going to make a couple of the quiches to have as my lunch while I'm there.

Do you have any restaurants you recommend as well? We normally go to somewhere called Crystals, and there's a chinese (I think called Little Wu or something like that) that I have been to before and love - that's going to be the only meal I'll go off plan on. But any other recommendations would be welcome.

And a Casino you say...please, tell me more! :D

Benidorm is great if you make an effort to get out of the typical tourist areas.

The beaches are fantastic and there is lots to see and do around that area. Albir which is about 10 mins from Benidorm is nice, lots of hotels in that area now but its much quieter than Benidorm but if you want it, it's only a bus ride away.

I went to Majorca years ago, it was Jan so we didn't do a lot but from what I remember it was ok.
