first weight loss just water weight?

doesn anyone have any opinions or thoughts on this? like do we lose so much in the first week as its not really 'fat' but just water....im sure its really obvious and im being stupid! still even if it is it gives you motivation to carry on right?!!!! xx
 
yes i think most of the 1st week is water as whatever diet you do you always lose more the 1st week, just my opinion.xx
 
Yes most of the loss in the first week is a mix of glycogen and water and hence the big first loss.

Hence very little of it will be fat but you need to get rid of the glycogen first and then you are cooking fat for fun.

Yep, as others say, most of it is water...but..scientifically, about 3.5+lbs should be fat, then what remains will be about 1/4 glycogen and 3/4 water.

Week 2 onwards will be mainly fat, unless there's still a bit of water weight to go. None of the weight will be glycogen though
