Hi everyone, I'm Jane and I'll be fifty on Tuesday! :eek: (But in my head I'm still only twelve so who cares about the outside!!)

Last month I decided that I want to mark this milestone year by doing something that worthwhile. I have never run in my life (even avoided it like the plague at school!) but something about it appealed to me so I decided to start training to run in one of the Race for Life 5k fun-runs. As luck would have it, I stumbled upon the Couch to 5k 9-week interval training plan and the timing tied in really nicely with a R4L run which is near me in the middle of July.

So I got myself back on the SW wagon and have thrown myself into running with gusto. I have four horses so I'm already an active person but this is a whole new ball game for me. In just four weeks I have gone from nearly failing to be able to run for just 60 seconds, to being able to sustain a five-minute one and I'm really feeling the benefit in other aspects of my life too.

So far I have lost 11lbs so I'm also delighted about that too.
