I think it is because it creates more sugar when heated. I don't understand why the same happens when you purree it even if you use less than you normally would.

I think it's because it's so much quicker to eat, when cooked. It takes a lot longer, and a lot more effort to eat 1 raw apple than 1 cooked one, so you are more likely to overeat. Also when cooked, be it boiled or baked most of the goodness is lost.
I may be wrong, but that is what I have been told.

Me too!!! I was warming a fridge cold apple in the micro before adding to my porridge and was told that I can't to that. But I download a free menu week of slimming world site and on one day they had as snacks cottage cheese with prawns and GRATED apple as free!!!! So I think I will add it as grated or is that wrong.

I am a confused apple eater lol
