Getting a gym membership for the 1st time!

On the 28th when I'm payed I'm going to purchase a gym membership for both my partner and myself. This is going to be my 1st time attending a gym and I'd like some advice about how many days a week I'd need to attend for a steady weekly weight loss? And how long each session should be?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cassia. I joined the gym ten weeks ago and I love it. I go 4 days a week to the gym but do a 6km cycle on a 5th day in my local area. I work out for an hour at a time. 35-40 mins cardio and 20 mins weight training.

At the time I joined my instructor told me to do an intense hour session as any longer and I would probably get bored.

When you join up yourself I'm sure they will do up a programme for you.
