Ginger and garlic - handy portions

    I found bigs bags of ginger and garlic (great small chunk size and NO added extras)in the Asian frozen food section in my local Sainsburys. They cost less than a pound each, last ages and are ideal for popping in to stir fries, soups, sauces etc when you are preparing food in a hurry

    I haven't got a log in for online shopping- it's made by Taj Foods and is called crushed garlic or crushed ginger

    Asda also do them, they also do crushed green chilli but be warned a whole block is HOT!

    The do plain garlic too - very easy to stir through a dish if you soften in the microwave first which is much better for when you're not using oil.

    Thanks Shirleen. I'll look out for these. I tend to batch cook so one block per big pot might not be too atomic..what do you think?
