Going to help street children in Ethiopia! Advice please?!

I have been chosen through work to go to Ethiopia for a week in November to help renovate a safe house and educate street children! So excited... I need to raise £2000 for the charity, Retrak and have given up both chocolate and diet coke for lent :cry:It is certainly harder than it sounds! Does anyone else have any experience of raising money and have any hints and tips of what I could do? I have a few runs scheduled and am thinking of a bake sale, fashion show, pub crawl and dress down day at work. Any other ideas are welcomed!

Also debtdummy had a similar thread to this last year. Maybe you could search her thread, there were lots of brill ideas on there.
