I start LL in exactly a weeks time. I have never been on a diet before (unless they can last three hours). Im 22 just over 16 stone but used to be as skinny as a rake before uni. I am starting LL because i have seen the effects of the diet on other people and felt it was time.
However im a socialiser and love going out for meals, nights out or just a pizza whilst watching football. I have never not done this and believe i will struggle.

Can any one give me any tips in to beating what i have done all my life?

I play lots of sport at night will this be compromised?

Has this not worked for anyone?

How long do you think i will need to be on it for to lose 3 stone?

sorry for the amount of questions but i guess its what a forum is for.

Hi lucasflu and welcome. I think everyone's stuggles at some point after all it is life changing from day 1! I think you may have to cut down on your sports at night for a few weeks but speak to your LLC about it he/she will be able to advise you. If you stick to the plan then LL says you should lose 3st in your 100 days - however some people lose that well before the end of their 100 days. You then have a route to managemt class which I think lasts 12 weeks and introduces you slowly back to food. The pizze and eating out will have to be put on hold but some people ring the restaurant before hand explain they are on a medically controlled eating plan and ask whether they would be willing to make up a soup/shake. Others take a bar (allowed from week 2).
Good luck and to help with any withdrawal symptom you may have I would recommend cutting down on the carbs now and drinking more water. You need to drink a minimum of 4l (8 pints) each day!
Good luck. Keep us posted on how you get on

Hi! I lost 4 stone in the first 12 weeks, but they say it tends to be about a stone a month - either way - I doubt you'll be on it much past foundation if that's all you want to lose.

You will need to adapt your way of life, but as its only for 3 months, its not a lot to ask! I still did the usual socialising, just drank water in pubs and ate my bars in restaurants. After you finish, you'll need to lead your life a little differently anyway, unless you want to end up back at the start. You'll do lots of work in the sessions to help you with this anyway.

I do long distance riding, and have to train alot - both riding and running - and I carried on with it throughout, but check with your LLC. You'll feel quite lethargic the first few days, so you may not feel like it. If you're already quite fit and sporty its ok - its only if you suddenly go mad on exercise and you haven't before.

If you think of it as a simple maths equation (ie 500cals taken in, approx 2000 cals going out, = 1500 cals a day of fat being burnt. 3500 burnt off = 1lb weight). That's why they say approx 1 stone per month.

Good luck - and feel free to ask lots of questions - we were all new once!

Nights out without the food and drink are still really good though, don't worry about missing out on your social life - I've been on loads of nights out and out with friends/family for meals and just had a bar and water and they've still been great.
