Help needed for 1st day......

good for you! (not that you're delicate...that you had a night out lol) hope you had fun ;)

what's your plan for today - are you craving rubbish cos you're delicate?x

i didnt have too bad a weekend food wise despite feeling delicate - but i wouldnt say it was technically 'on plan'. Only another 2 or three days til the freezer is empty and I can get back on it properly.

I hopped on the scales this morning when i was half dressed (forgot to do it straight away) and showing a gain from last week. Probably not very accurate but also not a great start to the week! I'm not surprised though - i wasnt following plan whole heartedly for various reasons (or should that be excuses!!) so i cant expect anything else.

I'm still feeling a bit rubbish and bloaty so this week is the start of doing exercise again! I am working tonight and meeting a friend tomorrow night so it will have to be wednesday or thursday that i make a start. Think I will go running if it isnt raining and if it is then i will do my 30 day shred dvd. (you have to make me do it - dont accept any excuses!!)

I have put the ingredients for a chicken curry in my slow cooker to do while I am at work (so definately not on plan today because of the coconut milk*sigh*) and then all i have left is some pork chops and some fish. I am going to stick to plan during the day today to hopefully try to minimise the damage. Breakfast is grapes and a nectarine. I have veggie soup for lunch with a WM roll (hexb), another nectarine and some more grapes, a yoghurt and some quavers (4.5 syns). I'm not going to have any more syns because there will be tons in the coconut milk for dinner. Its about 25 syns for the reduced fat one and I dont even know if thats the one bf bought so it is possibly more! *sigh*

what is your food plan today? You cooking?

hey missy...
cooking has begun later than usual today, was away for my friend's hen weekend so not been here to report my shennanigans lol.

great weekend, on plan pretty much up until late saturday night but yest there wasn't a bit of superfree in sight (unless onion on pizza counts! eeeek lol)

not fussed, i knew it was coming and not like i'm socialising every weekend!

back to normal today though and although i could make class, i'm not going to go and that will give me a chance to get caught up with everything plus i guess there would be some bloat gain showing today from the white floury/rubbish i had yesterday? either way, it's over and done with now and it just feels "normal" being back on plan today :)

i had no idea coconut milk was so high! just start afresh from tomorrow but boo to the scales eh! what do they know anyway pmsl

it really bugs me how people get away with having a blow out EVERY weekend but yet see a loss...or how they moan about getting "back on the wagon" AGAIN and wonder why they don't see results....just cheating themselves really but 9 times out of 10, if i have a gain, it's unjustified but sorts itself out the following week, or it's been because i've been out so would expect it (not very often though lol) but i'm def not gonna waste my own time and eat sh1t then say "aww i'm sooo disappointed about WI..."bla bla....sometimes i see diaries on here and although i know we all have slip ups and weight loss is NOT easy, i do read stuff sometimes and think get a grip! you're either following the plan or you're not!
yes unexpected things can cause us to be side tracked at times but come on!

how grumpy does that sound lol, it's just recently i've been getting fed up reading people's menus and it being constant junk cos it makes me feel disheartened and i'm on here to try and help me on my journey....not hear about everything we should avoid! (don't even get me started on the "awww honey, you can do it (again) or great food day today, you're right back on track (for 4hrs) and get that off in no time type replies!) yawn!
(god i'm a hard b1tch eh lol)

i'm gonna make the usual stuff today plus some mac and cheese to do for lunch tomorrow and to freeze one or 2 lots depending on what i have for dinner tonight.
* week should be here today but isn't and that's annoying cos you know how i get and the thought of almost fainting at work if it comes after today fills me with dread. ah the joys eh lol.

i'm not gonna nag at you to do your dvd...but GET IT DONE! lol (says she who really needs to take a leaf out of your book! hehe)

how's your day at work been so far? x

do you know what - i agree with your rant and am ashamed to say that looking back, i am one of the people who much about with the plan. on - off - on - off - thats how i have been all over the summer and its time it bleedin well stopped!! I have to say though that I dont flaunt on Minimins when I have messed up - i agree with you that this site needs to be inspirational to help people along the way and not just a confessional booth so people can make themselves feel better!

In honour of my turning over a new leaf (again :() I have been looking for a nice recipe to use on my basa fillets in the freezer. Today will be synful slow cooker curry (although....12.5 syns per person does not make it a disaster and I can cut one or two syns out tomorrow and make it up so i wont let it throw me off track). Tomorrow is steak night with bf's dad so thats taken care of and weds will be my basa fillets. I'll probably serve it with some mushy peas and SW chips mmmmm.

Did you enjoy your pizza? lol. Well done for getting back on plan today - must be difficult after a big weekend. How was the hen do? Sounds like you did pretty well to manage mainly on plan until the evening anyway....some people just use it as an excuse to have a few days off and stuff themselves so you should be proud that you didnt! :)

Saturday I did some work to a DIY project I have on the go. I am 'upcycling' an old bedside table and wardrobe since I cant afford to buy new things. Then I am going to use up some of bf's old paint and decorate the room as well lol.

So I have now sanded down and stained the base unit of the bedside table (in wood stain i got for my decking that i had left over), painted the drawer fronts of two out of three drawers (one in a maroon colour bf had left over from work and one in a light grey that is what is on my bedroom walls lol) and now just have one drawer front to paint (my sister is giving me a tester pot of green that she doesnt need any more) and the handles to paint and part one is finished! I like the idea of it being mismatched and think once it is finished and the wardrobe is done too it will look pretty cool!

The walls in the spare room will be mostly neutral (using up bfs old work paint again) and then one feature wall in this maroony colour if its not too dark for the room! Might even finish it off by making some artwork for the walls too! Although it will take a while til it is finished, it was nice to have some time to myself to get some done!

that all sounds really good!
i've heard of people getting cracking pieces of furniture for pennies and doing them up and some people have even made money selling them on again!
have you been enjoying it?

my rant was by no means aimed at you and i absolutely don't think you are one of those people at all...(i'd have never mentioned it if i did lol).
i think you always try to be on plan as much as you can or you know that you won't be if there's something on....but i honestly believe you do put an effort in! and i also think you're hard on yourself at times when you don't need to be x

i know that people's diaries are for their own thoughts and that they're being honest but for me, personally, i'm just struggling and haven't been reading as many threads (as well as looking for new ones) cos i don't want it to drag me down if you know what i mean.
if i was having a blow out, i'd probably stay away too but can't say for sure...as i haven't really and yes, that's my choice...but i joined sw to lose weight and eat healthy...i wouldn't be boasting about what i'd had during my blow out and lol'ing about "oh well, must try harder (but then not)" and maybe i'm being harsh cos people have their own way of dealing with certain situations but all i'm saying is that recently, i've found it difficult and felt a bit like "humph" everytime i've seen another blow out cos it doesn't make ME feel like "oh that's a fab idea, i'll try that, that'll maybe help me with x,y,z" etc
maybe i need to look for new people to follow...they're always full of enthusiasm lol.

and what i've said isn't aimed at everyone or anyone specific cos some people on here seem genuine friends or know more about them than what i do from just skimming through to look at the day's food but it's just how i feel...for me personally, it doesn't help.

i am by no means perfect and could write a book on the amount of diets i've done or junk food i've eaten over the years but right now, i'm enjoying this and this website is great for help and support as well as ideas etc....it's just i've struggled with my own thoughts about stuff as i've nosey'd on.

hen weekend was good and i did enjoy being off plan for the day...but i'm glad to say that it doesn't even feel like a drag to go back on plan today...which i'm glad of! it just seems normal!

not feeling too hungry to be honest but i'm going to have some soup with some ryvita and maybe some fruit salad for lunch (although it's getting on a bit) and for quickness (and easiness lol) prob the mac and cheese for dinner which will give me lunch tomorrow and also let me freeze one portion.
i halved the recipe and got 3 lots out of it so can't mumble :) x

i wasnt offended by anything you said hun - it was actually pretty motivating to have someone be honest about all the 'ooopsie i had a takeaway again' nonsense that you read some places on here. Just what I needed to help me kickstart myself. (I know some people are a bit over sensitive about posts on here - i am not one of them unless you directly insult me lol) I tend to steer clear from the diaries these days and just browse the general doscussion forums. When i am stuck on something i will post my issue and I will always try to take peoples hints and suggestions on board and at least give them a go. they wont all work but i appreciate peoples time and effort to try to help me! I also like the recipe threads.

If you arent getting what you need from the threads you are reading i would definately stop reading them as much and find some new ones that interest you. I used to love a thread called 'tough love - apply within' and it was exactly the sort of thing you have been ranting about but seemed to die down a bit and nobody has posted for ages. I am sure there are others who feel the same as you do as well!

I have been enjoying the upcycling as it happens. I'm trying to get hold of a bookshelf to go in there too - if i cant find one i will buy a cheap one i think. bf rolls his eyes at me about it but im starting to get annoyed with my spare room not being decorated yet (after over 2 years of living there) so if this keeps my annoyance in check then whats the problem?! lol. The wardrobe will be harder but now i know what to do i hope it will be ok. I have boxes of keepsakes and photo's so I am going to try and do some old boxes up with some material as well to display them a bit nicer. Bf doesnt want me to paint the walls but if he isnt going to do it for me then tough haha! All i need him to do is fill in the holes where the old shelves were and then i am good to go!!

good for you!
i'm good at filling holes...it's been known for me to use paint - the same colour as the walls and just fill it a wee bit at a time lol or i just jam that filler stuff in and sand off the rough bits...you show him ;) hehe

i was chuckling about him rolling his eyes...they're all the same but i think it sounds great and you'll get total job satisfaction if you do it all yourself and are pleased with it.

i think my response was probably aimed more at people who may be reading it...and take it the wrong way. but i guess if anyone thinks i'm out of line for saying what i feel and what is my opinion then maybe it's an issue to close to home for them!
but there was no offence intended to anyone :)

had some soup and ryvita with fruit for lunch and the mac and cheese there but i'm still hungry so might end up eating the wee drop fruit i had prepared for the morning before i leave for work.
not planning on having any more meals for the day so it can be a green one meaning i still have a HE to use...yaaaas! i love it when that happens lol x

Well last night was interesting for me food wise. I was working late (last day hurrah) and the girl I work with brought a Thai green curry in for us. She said it was syn free except she used a bit of oil. So I was like ok that's prob about 2 syns total then. And as we worked I discovered that she used 'a splash' of coconut milk. Ok so that's prob about 8 syns at least depending how much of a splash it was. Then she tells me she used a tube of green paste mix....so I was like 'that's probably got syns in as well you know. Say about 4/5 for that. So her syn free curry was actually about 15 syns in total lol

Luckily I hadn't used my syns as I was planning I have the curry made in my slow cooker. (Which is now in the freezer for another day :) I got three portions out of it so works out as about 8.5 syns per pot. The good news re Thai currys/coconut milk is that the blue dragon light coconut milk is only 7.5 syns per can so it is much more doable to have a Thai curry than I thought. Typical of bf to get the highest syns stuff the other day!! He is officially off shopping duty!!

Today is steak night but I'm not sure if I am going or not. I might be meeting a friend for a drink instead.

How's your day looking?

that was lucky that it all kinda worked out ok for you.... and not bad that you got 3 portions out of the one you'd made.
i was chuckling about your OH being off shopping duty...maybe that was his plan? lmao.

my day's been fine so far thanks, had left over mac and cheese for lunch and took quorn chilli out for dinner...although it's looking very watery from when it's defrosted. might have that with a baked potato i think.
i need to get bread, milk, potatoes and blueberries at some point...that's the plan..that's all that's on my list so officially, that's all i should come home with ;)

i didn't see those strawberry bars in aldi...but they did have choc orange ones - are they a HEb as well?x

Yeah as far as I know it's 2 for a hex of the 70 calories bars. Is that what you have? are they nice? I'm really wary of orange choc flavoured things.....

Plans have changed for tonight and I'm on emergency babysitting duty!! So it's linda McCartney sausages for me with either mash (with butter as I have syns left) or chips. Leaning towards chips so I can have a chip butty with my extra hexb. And mushy peas mmmmm. Proper comfort dinner for me!

that is comfort food....i might ditch the chilli and have that too...or maybe something like that tomorrow?

i haven't had them before, i was just saying i hadn't seen the strawberry ones but saw the choc orange ones. i didn't pick them up as i'm kinda put off after not liking the apple ones.

emergency babysitting will have saved a few syns and if you opt for the chips then you'll save on butter too...what about a wee spread of tomato sauce on the bread instead of butter??x

i'm always wary of new flavours which is why it took so long to try the harvest moon bars in the first place. not sure if i want to risk it but i do love chocolate so maybe i'll give them a try and if i dont like them ill send them up to you to try pmsl.

my friend has got me thinking about dumplings today as she wants a stew. it looks like you can get a pre-made mix and just add water (i have never made them so this seems to be the best way) and you can get dumplings for about 4.5 syns for 2 dumplings) so when i do a stew next week i am going to do some for a nice bit of stodge :) love the food this time of year!

tomato sauce is a good shout - might do that! I have a cadbury crispello at home which works out to 9 syns (3 syns per piece i think) that i could potentially have as i have only had 4.5 syns today....but tbh as i am starting out fresh i think i would rather use it on things like butter and sauce so that i dont fall off the wagon too soon. :)

cant wait to get home and cook it all up! and guess what.......NO OVERTIME WAHOOOOO!!!!! 5 minutes left and counting....not that i have done a thing today. not in the right frame of mind so literally all i haev done is read a few emails! very unproductive!

aww maybe it's what you needed...a day like that i mean?
but yippeee on the no overtime!

i saw on here ages ago that someone used cous cous for the dumplings (or maybe it was smash?) - either way it's controversial but if you were happy to use one of those and not syn them then the stew could be syn free too?

i've opted for the chilli, blasted a potato in the microwave but have now stuck it in the oven...mmm....the only thing that would make that delightful would be lurpack! hehe...thankfully i've none but it'll be on my list for the shop at xmas time ;)

i always find if i syn some tomato sauce to have with sw chips, it makes them even better. i think the reduced salt one is only 1/2 a syn for a tbsp? i just have the normal one but a teaspoon is usually enough...and what's 1 syn if you have the tbsp knowing you've saved on fat content if you'd have had the butter?

have you seen the packets of freddo faces that are out now?
i got one on sunday and it's a packet with lots of wee freddo things in them. think it would be about 9 or 9.5 for the bag but it seemed like loads of chocolate (clearly it was considering i have funsize stuff usually) x

I've heard about them but haven't seen them in the shops yet. Might be worth a look from what you are saying?!

Just got off the train...can't wait for food. I didn't have much today as I was a bit unprepared after not getting in from work til 10:30 last night. Will be sending bf to the shop for fruit....let's see if he manages to get it right?!

10:30!!! wtf!
god that's a long shift for you :(

they were good...there just seemed to be so many and although i'd never sit and eat 2 freddos, if i was going to, i'd prob chose these instead!

hope you get a feed soon chick lol x

Dinner was yummy. I went for butter and sauce (greedy grin). I shared my choc with my nieces while they had hot chocolate and I had tea!! So that was 3 syns. 4.5 for crisps earlier, 2 for butter and the rest prob on sauce lol.

Thoroughly enjoyed it though and we are snuggled up watching princess and the frog lol.

aww bless them :)

good for you on the syns...sounds like it was a yummy dinner and hey, if you had enuf syns then why not eh ;)

i'm just heading now to settle with some crisps and a wee crunchie...feeling a bit hungry so hoping that does the trick x

Oh yum i love a crunchie :) the girls are pretty much sparko on the sofa hahaha. Gives me chance to wash up a bit and get things ready for tomorrow :)

are they staying over at yours?

just discovered that crackerbreads are no longer a HEb :(
not good news for me...i have them quite a lot!
just bought 2 boxes so will use them up i think then decide if i'm going to break the rules or not pmsl x

Lol. They have just been picked up. If it was a weekend they would have stayed but they have school in the morning.

Ahh that's a shame - is that all cracker bread?! How about ryvita?! Not sure what else you could substitute for other than toasted pitta maybe?!
