Hiya all

Normally I am a very upbeat happy person, but I'm having a really difficult day.

I'm on my 5/6th week and I think I'll end this week losing only 2lbs. I haven't cheated once on the diet and it's great that I've lost almost 2 stone, but to be honest with you I'm thinking if I'm only going to lose 2 or 3lbs a week I could probably do that on Weight Watchers and have a bit of a life???? My loses since started have gone downhill really quickly and I suppose I'm getting a bit down about how long it's actually going to take to reach my goal and not being able to drink/socialise Etc......

Any help/advice/encouragement will be really appreciated!

Moo xx

Dont be too hard on yourself. I have just had my wk 4 weigh in and was gutted cos only lost 2.5lbs but people have been so supportive on here and I feel much better now. Take each day as it comes and keep thinking of your final goal and how fantastic you are going to feel and look. I have set myself a mini goal for the end of the month. Dont give up now you are doing so well. xx:)

I have had 2 weeks like that but you will probably be losing inches.
Stick with it as its all worth it in the end.

you are half way thru - you cant quit now - so close to your goal - have faith and keep telling youself you can do it - it actually helps to listen to upbeat music and chanting that to yourself ...... ( it helped for me in my other diets....)

Hey, sorry to hear you're feeling a bit deflated about the whole thing. I think you really have to mentally prepare yourself for the fact that, yes, there will certainly be weeks when you dont lose as much as you would hope. It really is all down to averages. Yes, you may lose 3lbs in a week with WW or SW but would you consistently have those losses. Would you average losses of around a stone per month. I know when i did WW many moons ago i averaged at around 2lbs per week, occasionally slightly more, sometimes less. But i had to work my butt off with exercise to maintain any sort of consistency. I also found that WW took a heck of a lot more willpower than CD - but then portion control never was my strong point
Having said all that, if you are happy to accept that the losses on that type of plan may well be slower but in return you get to feel like you have your life back, then that may be what is best for you. Ultimately hun only you can decide that. If you do decide to switch you've at least given yourself one heck of a mighty push in the right direction whilst on CD.
I'm not encouraging you to switch by any means, maybe just trying to prompt some thought processes which may help you decide whats best for you.

Wishing you well in whatever you choose my lovely Julian-in-waiting ;):D

Hi,

Don't panic and don't do anything rash. It's definitely a mid way thing. I noticed the same after about 6 or 7 weeks, for a few days I felt it was not worth it and that I couldn't go on and was bad tempered etc. Losses also slowed a bit at the same time adn I'm had a ***** of a week at wotk. All in all I was feelikng very sorry for myself.

I noticed quite a few people posting similar feelings and came to the conclusion that it happens. I am soo delighted that I rode out the storm as it were. It really did get better and the losses sped up too.

Try going to bed for a while and having some "me" time and try to ride it out. Remember the body is a wonderful and frankly wierd contraption and it will lose weight at it's own speed.

Chin up and good luck. Keep posting on here it will keep you occupied and take your mind off it and also hopefully it will give you hope that you can do it and that this is only a very temporary glitch.

I just want to say thanks very much for all your support! I think I'll mange to get through another day! Heheeheeh! I just went a little wobbly last night and back to normal today! And I seem to have lost another pound somewhere along the way - so at least I'm a little happier now.

Although in saying that - I think I'm starting to get my mind ready to start the Weight Watchers points thing once I've lost a little bit more on this diet. I think it's starting to have an effect on my friends - I haven't been out with them since starting - I think they are forgetting what I look like!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh to have a nice cool glass of wine again - I can't wait!

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit more upbeat about things today - keep up the good work and see how things go.
And if you do eventually decide to change to WW then, as i said, what a brilliant platform you've given yourself for the rest of your weightloss journey :)

think of it like this - even if you lose 'only' say 2-3lbs a week for the rest of the time staying on CD, that means in just 10 weeks max you will definitely have lost all the weight and can go on to eating healthily and maintaining it. That's such a short time really, and you've come so far already...
On WW if you stick to it i think the losses average around 1-2lbs a week, so it would probably take you take twice as long to get to goal, but hey it does let you have a glass of wine!...
good luck whatever u do though, and well done on getting through the past 6wks!x
