help with my roast beef

Hi guys, well, here is my problem... we usually go to my mums on a sunday for dinner, but she has had to go to England for her brothers funeral, so I have to stay at home and cook dinner for us. :eek:
So I thought I would use my new slow cooker and cook a roast beef, so I bought a pot roast (hope thats the right cut to pick), so can anyone guide me as to how much liquid etc that I need and basically what to do (I only got my slow cooker yesterday lol)..... thank you.

Pot Roast of Beef

3 lb Roast
2 Onions; sliced
3 Potatoes, sliced
½pt Water mixed with beef bovril or 2 red oxo cubes
3 Carrots, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper


Method

Put vegetables in bottom of slow cooker.

Salt and pepper meat, then put in pot.

Add liquid.

Cover and cook on Low 10 to 12 hours. (High: 4 to 5 hours).

Remove meat and vegetables with spatula.

oh donnie thank you, I only just noticed this in the recipe section... thanks so much.... I have never cooked a roast beef in my life before, so fingers crossed for me.... x x x x x
