Help with PC?! password problems

I have recently moved and when trying to turn on my sons pc, it is asking for a password. There wasnt any password on there and we used to just enter past it to get into windows. Now because it is saying there is an error it has also blanked out the user name and we cant remember what it was??? Is there any way around this???

Try going into safemode (Press F8 continuously while it's booting up)

There's not usually a password on the administrators account.

Hopefully it will log you in

You can then do

Start
Run

Then type in Control userpasswords2. You should be able to change the way your son logs in after that. Or even have it so he doesn't need to log in at all
