hiya girlies, hope everyone is having a fab sat.

mine started with big cravings - had to go out to buy some stuff at the supermarket (non-food, of course) and well, you can imagine how my cravings kicked in for a sarny...

then went to rent DVDs and see more crisps etc...i ran out...im still afraid of myself for cheating..:(

so i came home and made some choc ice cream lightly sprinkled with cinnamon. it did the trick...already drank 2L of water :tear_drop: for brekkie...will continue of course ;)

thanks for hearing me out :p

Well done for avoiding temptation! I put in my blog the other day that I keep noticing food everywhere and I blame our culture- everything seems to revolve around food and if (like me) you develop the wrong attitude you end up looking forward to the food instead of the real reason you should want to go somewhere do something. Here are some examples of what I mean:

Cinema: get to eat pick & mix and nachos with cheese- i'll b there! (instead of wanting to see the film)

Meal: get to eat my fave things off the menu (rather than go for the company)

Work: theres a vending machine with worcester sauce French Fries in it (instead of looking forward to meeting the challenges and seeing my friends)

Bowling: Theres a cafe where I can get chips (instead of wanting the fun of socialising and playing the game)

Going out in the pm: Get to drink my fave alchohol and get chips from the kebbaby after (instead of going to dance and socialise)

Having a friend over for the evening: Perfect excuse for takeaway-pizza, chinese, whatever i feel like (instead of looking forward to catching up).

THIS IS HOW BAD IT CAN BE IF YOU LIVE IN A FOOD-CENTRED CULTURE AND LIKE YOUR FOOD TOO MUCH: IT BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE THINGS THAT REALLY COUNT.

May we all learn from my revelation! (including me) xx

Great post wannabslim, and well done Jenna for not giving into temptation!!

I've just had a shake to stop myself raiding the tin of roses that my husband dared to open..... I was fine as long as the seal was intact!

Oh you are SO RIGHT wannabslim. My husband said to me the other day "I love it when you are on this diet coz we can go out for the day and think about having a good time instead of worrying about where we will have lunch and what we will have for lunch and then what we will have for dinner when we get home."

That was a big revelation for me - I used to centre everything around food. So behaviour certainly has to change - and I hope I am getting there.

Yep its true, it only struck me while I was waiting in the queue for the cinema and looking at the snack section. When I first moved to Soton there was only pick and mix and drinks, but now there's haagen dazs, nachos, even chicken skewers and other things that you wouldnt expect to see in a cinema. It was then that it struck me, like a light buob going off in my head! My bf thought I was being weird but to those of us for whom weight is a problem, its an important thing to recognise, so you can make changes to your attitude to life.

Glad this seems to have helped you!! xx
