Hi - dh and I are fighting the flab!!

Hi, I just thought I'd drop in and say hi!

My name is Claire and myself and my dh have, today, started on Exante.

My current weight is 19.7st and hubby weighs 16.2st.

I have previously done LL (51/2 years ago) and started at my heaviest ever weight (apart from when pregnant) of 20.7st and got down to 16.4st. I then got engaged and vowed to do LL again before the wedding but several trys failed. (i'm not sure it's a diet that you can repeat too quickly) I gained weight unlike most brides to be who lose it in the lead up to the wedding! Since getting married, I've gone on to have 2 gorgeous children, the youngest being just shy of 6 months old and is just about to start weaning... hence I figure that this is a good time to start a vlcd. (i'm hoping to continue bf'ing by having an extra bar/shake)

This is the first time dh has gone on a vlcd properly (he dabbled with some CD shakes in the past) but he seems properly motivated. I think having children does tend to focus your mind on the future and being around for key events! Also, we're both older parents (he's 46 and i'm almost 40) so having more energy will be lovely!!

Anyway, as I said, this is day 1 for us. Not sure if i'm liking the Exante stuff!! Strggled with the porridge this morning and wasn't too keen on the vegetable soup... I think i need more water as it was too thick for my liking. Give me another few days and i'll probably think they're the best thing out there!

My first goal is to get to 15st by my 'big' birthday so that I can buy a nice dress and enjoy a spa weekend with dh! I know this is achievable on a vlcd, i'm just not sure how achievable it is without the help of the weekly weigh in sessions that i was used to at LL... we shall see!

Thanks

Claire

Hi Claire, welcome!

Good luck to you and your hubby, it's good that you'll have the support of each other and know what each other are going through.

I was another bride that ended up not losing any weight for my wedding even though I promised myself I would

You'll get lots of friendly help and advice on here so stick around :)
