Hi from a newbie

Hi everyone,

I've been reading everyones inspirational messages and stories for a while now so I thought it was time to bite the bullet and get myself on here!

Today is day 1 of my second attempt at LT 100%. I started it a few months ago but only got to day 4 and then caved in for a number of reasons. Things were very stressful at work with a redundancy situation hovering over my head and my baby son got very poorly and was up constantly at nighttime. I ended up totally exhausted and poorly myself so had to give it up. But I'm back and full of motivation to do it this time! My job is fine and and my 18 month old finally seems to have got the knack of sleeping through so I'm really going to give this my best shot.

Ok here are my stats....

I'm 5ft 4in and 12 stone 9lbs with my bmi of just over 30 which makes me obese:cry:I want to lose 3 stone, whether I do all of this on LT or not remains to be seen. I'm just keeping an open mind, taking each day as it comes and seeing how I get on second time round. My sister is getting married in December so I have that to aim for - I'm determined to be a yummy mummy by then!!

Day 1 has been ok, I'm hungry (obviously!) but very motivated too. I'm sure I'll have hard days when I'll be very tempted to give up but I just have to remind myself why i'm doing this. Feeling good about myself and being healthy will make me a better mummy and wife. Plus I currently have a bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding hanging in my wardrobe that I can't even do up half way!! :)

I'll be coming on here lots t keep me motivated in the rough patches so I hope to get to know you all over the coming weeks. Any words of wisdom or encouragement would be greatly appreciated for when I wake up with a rumbling tummy tomorrow morning!!

Bye for now,

Emxx

Well done for taking the plunge. You seem to be very focussed this time round. Also you have the great goal of the wedding in December. If you stick with TFR you will easily get most of the weight off before then.
Keep very busy for the first week. You need lots of distractions to keep you away from eating. Drink loads of water throughout the day. It really does help. Aim for about three litres a day.
This forum will be a great support when you feel like giving in, so hop on here for support.

Thanks Irish Molly! Wow you've lost a huge amount of weight - well done you! You must feel fantastic?!! Has it changed you??

Well this is day 2 (just about to have my first shake) and I feel ok so far. I dreamt about a takeaway curry and wine infront of X Factor on Sat night though!! I think the weekends will be the hardest as my husband and I are real foodies and all of our socialising with friends & family seems to centre around food and drink. Eeekk! Doesn't help that he's very tall and slim and has never had a problem with his weight.....v annoying!!

Hi Em and welcome, keep busy, drink the water, have the shakes at regular intervals and spend as much time as you can on here reading others peoples' stories for inspiration. If you feel yourself wavering then just log on here for support, there'll always be someone going through the same thing or has been through it and they'll help you.

The first few nights were a problem for me, so I took myself off to the bathroom, had a long soak, turned my iPod up and got stuck into a really good book. If you can get through the first week then I reckon you've cracked it cos that first weigh in makes it all worthwhile!

Good luck x

Hi Sandra and thankyou for the tips. Ooooh yeah I like the sound of a long soak and a book!

I can't wait for my first weigh in already haha, you all seem to have lost so much - I'm quite in awe! Just out of interest, how have your partners/ friends reacted to you doing this diet?? Mine are proud of me for doing something about it but are pretty negative about the diet itself. They think it's dangerous to exist on so few calories a day and that its too extreme. I spent ages researching it though and I really feel like this is the way for me to do it......at least to give me a good kick start on the weight I want to loose anyway. I appreciate what they're saying that its not a long term solution but I reckon that once I've spent all this time and pain going through the process of loosing weight I'll make damn sure I don't go back to my old ways and put it back on again!!

Hello and welcome , you sound very focused so roll on the first weigh in! Good luck xx
