Home made bread

Can anyone tell me if home made bread/pasta etc is less calories than shop bought? I read a success story that said she started making her own pasta and bread and it helped contribute towards her weight loss....

I've never made any of that myself but will give it a go if its worth it.

I've never worked out the calorie content of it, but I bake bread. I suspect you could probably get it quite a bit lower with a careful choice of flour. It's certainly healthier - no preservatives etc.

I doubt very much that its lower in calories, its still basically flour whether home made or shop bought, and making it yourself isnt goig to make the calories in flour any less. Besides which, home made bread and pasta is just so delicious would you be able to stop at a small portion? Much better to stick to sliced plastic bread where you know what the portion control is and how many calories you are consuming, and far less tempting to overindulge.

Save the wonderful home made stuff for when you hit target :(
