I was reading another forum and there is a lady on there that went to get Xenical from her GP and he said he could only give her a private prescription for it (at £42.71 per month) as the NHS no longer prescribes it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I've not heard or read any announcements and I read the medical press quite a bit. Chances are she just has a GP that doesn't like prescribing it. When I asked my Dr about it I was bluntly told "I don't believe in that rubbish" I wouldn't mind so much but I had to lose 2 stone before I could take part in a pulmonary rehab course. I'm hoping that 22lbs will suffice as its due to start next week!

Sounds like rubbish to me! Wouldn't worry. I have my appointment next week - will let you know if I get my prescription or not...
