I'm pretty 'up' on my biology, but I am not sure if hormones can have an effect on ketosis. I check my ketones a couple of times a week with ketostix and have always been very dark purple.
However, at the beginning of this week I noticed it was a little paler, but didn't think anything of it. It's my TOTM and despite being 100% TFR I have managed to put on some weight (I weigh myself in a morning, after toilet but before dressing!) so I am consistent with my weighing. This is the first time in my LT journey that the scales have gone up!! I'm feeling lethargic and generally un-ketosis-y so checked with ketostix and very very pale (1 up from 'traces' of ketones).
Can hormones somehow mobilise some hidden glycogen or something? Whatever it is, I'm mightily pissed off - I feel so crappy and hungry and am fighting the cravings, it'll be SO disappointing if I don't even lose anything once I've battled through!
