I've actually known about this site for a while but I am now determined to lose weight for good. This is my story.....

I have been big all my life and have "Yo-yoed" my weight from 17st to 12st. I was bullied at school for my size which left me with serious self image issues that I am currently being treated for.

The big kick up the arse at the moment is my Mum recently died. She was skinny but did not look after her health and she ended up with very aggressive cancer. Watching her fight for life has made me realise the road I am on. To make it worse, the hospital she was in treated her very badly to the point we feared for her safety. Luckly for us, a hospice charity stepped in and got her out of there but I never want to be that defenceless. This was a woman with so much fire and passion reduced to a terrible state. My Father who is also overweight has diabeties, angina, bad hips, depression, etc. You name it, he has it. He may not have long himself and when he goes, I will be well and truely alone. I have no boyfriend, no children, and no career. All of my friends are online. This is my future if I don't do something now.

My other reason for losing weight is to do things to raise money for the hospice that looked after my Mum after she was badly treated. I want to be a writer (despite being dyslexic) and intend to have a percentage of the profits from my first book go to the hospice but I also want to take part in events. I have bad social skills as a result of many years hiding indoors ashammed to be seen and feel losing weight may give me a huge boost that may push me to go out more.

I have tried everyting...Slimming world, Weight watchers, Slim fast, Paul McKenna. Had some success with Nutracheck so am considering it as an option. I don't want to do any LCD or VLCDs. The main thing I want is a plan that doesn't leave me hungry, means I can have treats, and encourages me to eat things like wholegrains and veggies.

Hope to see more of everyone soon X.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Mum. If thats not an incentive to get healthy, i dont know what is?!
Well done on choosing to improve your life!
I, myself am new to the forum and have just started my journey today. (yet again lol)
I don't want to continue living a miserable self loathing existence anymore. I want to be fit & healthy for my kids and if I'm happy, my hubby & kids are happy. :)
I'm not following any one particular plan, especially not a LCD...they just leave me far too hungry and i miss eating food, real food!!
In my 20yrs of experience with dieting, i now have the tools and the know how to stick with a way of eating that suits me and my body. I know what works and what doesnt. I just need to stick with it.
Good luck on your journey! There seems to be lots of support on this forum!

Thank you. I have decided to go with Boots own online diet as it's cheaper than nutracheck and planing to start from Monday so I can sort things out. My poor body can't take too much more! :break_diet:
