I. Must. Calorie. Count

    After trying most diets under the sun, but never really sticking well to any of them, I'm gonna give calorie counting a go...! Heavier than I have ever been, surely the only way is down!!

    I have downloaded MFP and have been pretty good over the weekend, however the plan is to be mega strict as of Monday. Any hints/tips/support will be more than welcome...!

    Good luck!

    Play around with the times you have food to suit you , make a plan eg 200 cal for breakfast how many for tea and dinner but remember if you change it up it doesn't matter as long as you don't go over your limit!

    Have snacks between meals i recommend 3x 100 cals, remember you can have anything you like ..... You just have to choose between that 400 cal chocolate bar or a full meal!

    Thanks tink...snacks seem like a good plan and I suppose it will take a bit of playing about for a wee while!

    I struggle to think of creative evening meals. I'm happy enough having the same for brekkie and lunch but need variety in the evenings. Past chilli, stir fry and baked potatos, my imagination runs out...

    Ha ha i know what you mean i have oven chips and freezer tea most nights! Sausage fish sausage rolls!! Have a look on the diaries people post their meals, on slim fast part as well all 600 al meals which i have !

    Part of the fun playing about with new meals/ snacks!

    I'm sure once I get into it, it'll be a bit easier. Need to get my imagination going. Thinking omelettes think week...x

    You can have pretty much anything you want, but it might be a small portion ;) I tend to have things with salad or veg in the evenings. Chicken and seafood are low calorie, red meat is higher, but I make sure I eat all 3 over the course of the week.

    I had paella for lunch this morning, chorizo in red wine yesterday and I know I've got a spicy chicken with peppers lined up for Monday. I think tonight's duck in a soy sauce marinade. Sky is pretty much the limit as long as you keep a handle on calorie count. Often it's not the main part of the meal but what goes with it that will tip it over.

    Thanks Moog! Your right, just takes a different way of thinking. Your suggestions sound fab!

    I have spend today getting organised for the week. Some porridge and fruit for brekkie. Chilli chicken salad for lunch (just about to have this the now) and some cooked chicken, cottage cheese (I honestly love this stuff!) and salad for dinner. Got a few wee snacks organised for when it's required. Whoop! Day 1 is looking like a success so far...

    i also so go on the other sites SW WW look at there recipies and adjust them with calorie counting means your not eating the same food all the time at teatime x

    Just remember, some calories are better than others. For example, it'd be easier to lose weight eating 1200 calories of veggies than 1200 calories of candy.

    Bbc good food website lets you search recipes by calorie content. I've had loads of good ideas from there!

    I would recommend watching your sugar in take... I'm being such a diet pusher, but if you're like me your liver only uses a little for energy and converts the rest into fat. Also I've found that level blood sugar prevents the urge to binge.

    Thanks for all the advice. Everyone is so supportive on here!!

    So far another successful day...chilli and a small baked potato for dinner and a wee fun size twix can't give up on my chocolate fix! This was all after aerobics! Can you see my halo shining?!

    Curries? Different seasonings, like Cajun, jerk, Chinese 5 spice, Italian etc. on chicken? Pasta with different sauces? Venison steaks? Homemade turkey burgers? Fish?

    Oh...today is a wobble...still in calorie count...had dinner a wee bit earlier than usual then felt the need to snack on 4 digestive biscuits!! Tempted to go to bed now to avoid further temptation of the biscuit tin!!

    I live on chicken...not a massive fan of red meat or fish so means I'm mostly a chicken dinner person...lots of different sauces seems to be the key of variety!

    i have woke this morning with a horrid cold so im sulking lol:( hopefully it will be gone soon :D
