If it contains citric acid and your body is sensitive to those types of things, a cola drink can knock you out of ketosis, which means you are no longer burning fat.
I take it that if you are knocked out rather by a zero calorie drink you will still burn fat but you will find it hell as you will be hungry all the time..am I right?
Not necessarily. If your diet drink is high in carbs, it can kick you out of ketosis so you won't be burning fat - your body will use those carbs up first.

To be honest, on day 5 I would recommend you knock the diet coke on the head - best to do the plan as cleanly as you can from the start to give yourself a fighting chance. I know some of these treats are considered 'legal' but all of them come with the warning that if you add to the programme, you run the risk of it not working the way it is meant to.
I don't mean to preach in any way, shape or form, but the best way of doing the plan (if you can) is to stick to the water, your packs, and nothing else. But if you must add your legal treats be vigilant to cravings, etc and don't expect the same results.
