Serena, this sounds so simple and I'm sorry if it comes across as anything but tryna help.. Have you tried going into the loo, sitting on it.. And just relaxing?? Don't think of anything.. Just sit.. And breath.. Dont get up until you've gone??
Maybe you're body is so "busy" that your bowel just hasn't had a chance to relax enough to release anything...

Sometimes I do this (when BF is out coz I couldn't "go" with him in the house) and it really does work..
Sometimes I find I pump so much into myself to help with it that it blocks me up even more...

Yup.. Do that.. Have a little think about Santa and Poppy.. Its also a good tip to lean forward on the toilet too.. So maybe put the catalogue on the floor and have a flick through..

Not sure if fybogel would help Serena as things like fruit block her up even more, so I reckon the fibre in it would make things worse. It has never worked for me either!

Sorry that you're in so much pain this morning In the past 12 days have you passed anything at all? Including wind? Because if nothing has come out at all then it could be serious ie your colon might be blocked and you'd need to go to hospital to get it sorted. I hope you can get to the chemist this afternoon!

Oh no Serena, it sounds awful can you get a telephone appt with the docs?? They would be able to fax a prescription to your local pharmacy??

Hope it passes soon, but if it's been that long I agree & think you probably need to get it checked out x

I've gone 3 n 4 weeks without any "movements" in the past but its because she's post op i'd be worried...

Serena you need to get checked out Hun, is there no one that can drive you? You can't carry on like this and with you being post op you can't take the risk of it just being constipation. Think of little poppy she needs her mummy to be getting better too. Atleast if you get checked out you will know what's going on. Not read back throughout the post so not too sure as to the nature of your op but have you tried glycerin suppositories to assist with any blockages, if you have and they have not worked there are several options available to you, firstly ask your Dr for a referral to a specialist bowel consultant, there is a operation available called a sacral nerve stimulator ( google it) it has been successful in helping with both constipation and bowel leakage, also there is a home irrigation system called Peristeen irrigation again google it and then discuss it with your doctor! there is no need to suffer, hope this helps.

Hope you are ok, Have you tried prune juice? Its completely gross!! and make no plans to leave home lol but it does the trick. I have a bowel disease and had lots of problems and was prescribed fiber gel which made it worse for me, so i asked about natural stuff as i take meds and didn't want any interference. You can buy it in big glass bottle in asda xxx

Nothing has come out at all :-( I think I might try an Aloe Vera Tablet tonight, sometimes those help. Nothing like Fibrogel, Rugucol, Lepicol, Prune Juice will help because as Sarah says I struggle with Fibre. I ate 4 Fresh Figs the other week and that blocked me up for 5 days, other people would be rushing to the loo! X

Well the GP was useless, they said they can't do anything over the phone cos I have seen the doc about bowel matters before and surprise surprise there were no appointments for today, might try NHS direct thingy...

I found the same problem with Prune Juice as Fibrogel cos of the Fibre?!? X

They really work believe me I know from experience, anyhow make sure you but the Glycerine suppositories, you can get them over the counter at any chemist pop on in any don't go out good luck.

I'm really concerned that there's been nothing in 13 days. You should get checked for a bowel obstruction! At the very least speak to a pharmacist or ring NHS direct. Can you ring your consultant from when you had your op and see if it's anything that might have happened due to that?
