If You Fail To Prepare, You Prepare to Fail

Hey Serena,
Sorry to hear poppy was upset at school today. I can't believe how much pressure is put on young children these days. She's far too young to be upset over exams.

What an amazing haul at Iceland. I love Iceland and farm foods for bargains, both pp and £s.

I'm not ashamed about loving these shops either. I also love b & m and home bargains as well.

Gutted for you about your lunch, how can they call it a roast!

Nic xx

Good Evening Subscribing Sweeties :) Week 3 Day 3 is drawing to a close so I'm here to update! As you all know, today was Fathers Day and I was spending it with Mum, Dad and my little Popsicle! I won Cinema Preview Tickets for 'Chef' which I donated my parents to use this morning and then we met up afterwards. Food has been slightly random, I shall explain now.... Breakfast-WW Greek Style Lemon Yogurt (2pp) & Rice Krispies Bar (2pp) & 1 Peeled Pear (0pp) & Askeys Wafers (0pp) & 1 Peeled Apple (0pp) Lunch-Costa Primo Skinny Hot Chocolate (4pp) and a Fake Krispy Kreme (6pp) Dinner-Small Dominos Veggie Supreme Pizza (20pp) About an hour after that I had 1/10th aka 70g of Specially Selected Tarte Au Citron (7pp) Mum and Dad went home at about 9pm, I am now laying in bed thinking about how much I enjoyed today! I've managed to use 41pp today which means I've used 15 more Weeklies, 19 down, 30 to go! Hope everyone has had a fab Sunday! Lots of Love Serena X

Sounds like a lovely Sunday & Father's Day with great food!! :)

Good Evening Subscribing Sweeties :) Week 3 Day 4 is drawing to a close so I'm here to update! Breakfast-WW Greek Style Lemon Yogurt (2pp) & Coco Pops Bar (2pp) & 1 Peeled Pear (0pp) & Askeys Wafers (0pp) & 1 Peeled Apple (0pp) Lunch-'Roast' at my Favourite Cafe but it had gone majorly downhill :-( No Roasties :-( No Yorkshire Pud :-( I counted it cautiously as 9pp, 6pp for 3 Scoops of Mash, 2pp for Peas, 1pp for Fried Mushrooms, 0pp for Cabbage/Carrots. Dinner-3 Vegetable Fingers (4pp) Tonight I'm going to have 1 Slice of 5050 Bread (2pp) with 20g of Raspberry Preserve (1pp). Followed by a Strawberry Trifle (4pp) and a Snowball (2pp). So today has been a bit up and down! The 'up' bit was -Iceland Shop, for those of you who missed it... I got all that for £14.99! -Cath Kidston Phone Cover in the Charity Shop for only 50p, yes 50p! -Topshop Jeggings in the Charity Shop for only £1! The 'down' bit was that Poppy took her Year 1 exam today :-( She's been doing so well at school but she just doesn't think she did that well today :-( She was all emotional and tearful, bless her :-( All I could say to her was that I was proud of her and as long as she tried her best, that's all that matters. Hope everyone has had a fab Monday! Lots of Love Serena X

Poor Poppy, hopefully it's just a case of lack of faith in herself - just a shame that our education system thinks it's necessary to examine kids at every level. Hopefully she'll be feeling better about it tomorrow :D

I never really noticed my exams till gcse, is that just cause we were more naive to it? 5 sleeps :D:D:D:D Sent from my GT-I9505 using MiniMins.com mobile app

I'm the same!!! But I'm not sure I actually sat any before them as I'm soooo old!!!

Morning my minis bestie xx

nothing to be embarrased about! il join ya there ;)

Iceland Appreciation Society here We come? X

QUOTE="Shez__x;7365193"] i dont remember doin any exams in primary school but i imagine we did - other than my year 6 exams! and i remember them well because i was so stressed about them i had a reaction and my legs swoll up and were blotchy and i was tested for meningitis! but it wasnt that - and i literally could not walk! it was like learning to walk all over again![/QUOTE]

OMG! That's awful Shez, least Poppy only had a few tears last night! X

Omg this diary moves on so fast. Be back to comment when I've read through and caught up xx

It's where all the cool kids hang out Nicky ;-) x

Poor Poppy. I don't agree wi exams at that age. My friends little girl was so upset cos she was put in2 a different grp from her friends & although she was in the slightly more advanced grp they called her stupid as she was no longer part of their 'Grp'. Kids can b so cruel, there is no nd 4 the added pressure. I so nd 2 get 2 Iceland. My prob is that I will buy stuff then think that they r 2 high in pp 2 actually eat!!! Sorry Selena but ur lunch looked pants, I would have complained!!! Njoy rest evening x Sent from my iPad using MiniMins.com mobile app

Kids are cruel but then I think Adults can be just as bad! Lunch was Pants I agree, didn't bother to complain as I was in a hurry but won't go back again! X

i always used to point items when i was in the store haha

Me Too :) Although now all the NI is online I work it out before I go! X

I remember the year 6 exams. We did practise ones half way through the year, I got good results and was told to go to posh school but didn't want to. I also remember doing exams in about yr 3 or 4. I think I may have done sats in year 9. Then 3 GCSE's in yr 10 and the other 9 GCSE's in yr 11. I was one of them people with an amazing short term memory. I could cram in everything the night before and remember it the next day. Same with A levels. I got an A in A level further math but ask me a mathematical question now and I wouldn't have a clue. Yet it goes on my CV for life lol!! I think they should scrap exams until at least secondary school

Totally Agree! Stop putting pressure on my baby! X

The Toby Carvery would definitely put them to shame ;-) We don't have FF, B&M or HB so I have to make the best of Iceland! Think we are getting B&M later this year tho so I'm excited about that! X

Great lot of goodies from Iceland's hun, I'm a Iceland's shopper too- we spend way to much on food in our house! Children of that age shouldn't be worrying about exams, hope you and Poppy are doing ok xx

Iceland Rocks! It appears to have lots of Minis Followers! X

Morning Serena. It's disgusting that your little girl has been through that kind of upset at her age because of stupid exams at school. It really is ridiculous to do that to them at such a young age isn't it? So unnecessary! It can be a mad world at times. Hope you and Poppy are ok this morning and have a great day.

Think you do right to avoid that cafe in the future, they should be ashamed serving that plateful up! Yuck! Hopefully you will enjoy your lunch better today xx

Very impressed with the Iceland haul. Can't believe how cheap some of it is. Its not somewhere I ever shop as most of our shop tends to be fresh stuff and have memories of them having very limited options with that. Although that could have changed - I don't think I have been in one for about 8 years!

Hope Poppy is feeling better. I suspect the real difference is education is calling "tests" (which we all did regularly even at Primary school) "exams" now and therefore the results feeling a bit more final.

Morning serena x Hopefully Poppy's tears are forgotten today x Have a good day xx

Good Afternoon Mrs S :) x

Morning Hun, hope Poppy is ok this morning xx

Good Afternoon Sarah Lou :) x

Good Afternoon Charlene :) Had a really good day thank you. X

Good Afternoon Janine :) Iceland do a great range of Fresh, Frozen, Chilled and Dry, the reason I'm a huge fan is that there is never any out of stocks! X

Hello Miss Serena. How is today going for you so far? How old are you btw....I'm not usually so nosey but I can't work out from your photo what your age is. And don't ask me to guess. As I always end up getting myself in trouble. It is strange when you read people's food/life diaries online as you build a picture of them in your head. If that makes sense.

Hope your little girl is feeling better today :)

Hey Sarah! I don't mind you asking! I'm 29, will be the big 3-0 in November! Most people say I look younger than I am, in fact sometimes they think me and Poppy are sisters! X

Good Evening Subscribing Sweeties :)

Week 3 Day 5 is drawing to a close so I'm here to update!

Breakfast-WW Greek Style Lemon Yogurt (2pp) & Coco Pops Bar (2pp) & 3 Askeys Wafers (0pp) & 1 Peeled Apple (0pp)

I met up with my Mum and 2 Friends today, we popped into Maidstone as one of our friends had moved and she wanted to show us her new place! I popped into WHSmith to get Poppy some free (yes free!) chocolate footballs and then We decided on Prezzo for lunch as I had a Half Price Coupon (Yes Half Price!)

Lunch-Prezzo Light Vegetarian Pizza (13pp)

image-389955885.jpg

Can totally recommend this to anyone, it was super yummy and super tasty! Best of all it only cost me £5.05 with the Voucher!

I then took Mum to get her Food Shopping as normal, picked Poppy up and had a Mini-Milk (1pp) with her.

I had every intention of not eating dinner as I thought I would be full enough from Lunch but then I had a funny turn at about 430 :-( Thought it best to eat dinner rather than fill up on 8pp TT as planned!

Dinner-185g Cooked Penne (5pp), 65g of Phili Stir-In Garlic n Herb (2pp) and Steamed Button Sprouts/Carrots/Green Beans (0pp)

image-3040478192.jpg

This was much better than Quark Macaroni Cheese last week, still need to try LowLow Pasta but so far Phili Pasta is winning!

So I have precisely 1pp left for TT, I'm thinking I might use some of my remaining 30 Weeklies? What does everyone think? To Weekly or not to Weekly?

Hope everyone has had a fab Tuesday!

Lots of Love
Serena
