Hi folks! :wave_cry:

I thought I'd pop by and introduce myself! I seem to spend a lot of time lurking in the WeMITT section and I thought it was about time I said 'hi'.

I'm currently into my 3rd week on the w8 rapid plan, I had a bit of a wobble yesterday and drank some wine and ate some (plain) chicken :break_diet: but all in all I've been good and so far I've lost at least 12lbs! (I say at least because I had TOTM messing with the scales on my 2nd weigh in and I think I've lost a bit more).

*gulp* Ok, so my starting weight was bang on 20stone. (btw, if my OH is reading this, shame on you! it's meant to be private lol) I want to get down to 11 stone for the first time in my adult life!

So I'm in it for the long haul, so it will be lovely to get to know you folks and share the journey with you!

my first goal is the first 4 stones, when I hit 16 stones I can usualy sqeeze into a size 16 and I always feel so much better about myself, so that is my first target and my reward is a haircut paid for by my OH!

Hi Roosters,

I had a similar amount to lose as you. I started at 19 stone 3lb and aim to get back down to 11 stone (I was last there when I was about 18 I think!!)

Good luck with your journey!

Hey Roosters,

I started on 1st Jan after getting on my son's Wii Fit. I felt so cross with myself as I had absolutely no idea I weighed that much. Yes, I knew I was overweight but it shocked me into doing something about it. I started on that day!

I'm not following a plan. I'm just eating healthily, have just right back on the junk (I do have a treat of some sort every day, well life's too short to be miserable, isn't it? ;)) and I do tons of exercise.

I'm definitely a WeMitt having spent much of my adult life either on a diet or thinking "sod it, I'm fat anyway" and eating whatever I wanted. I have finally realised (it's been a long time coming!) that this has now got to be a way of life for me. There is no getting to goal and then reverting back to my old ways else I'll just be a yo-yo dieter forever and a day.

I feel absolutely fab if the truth be told. I'm loving my new confidence and all the compliments I get. It really spurs me on. Having said that, I still have just shy of 3st to shift although people keep saying "ooh, you don't want to lose much more, you look great as you are". Yeah, right. What do they know?? :8855:

25% is a huge achievement, though I know it's easy to get overwhelmed by how long the journey is going to take. i've not been dieting anywhere near as long as you and I still think to myself sometimes, "damn, i've been dieting for 2 weeks, surely I should've shed half my body weight by now.... haven't I suffered enough" lol oh well, day by day, week by week .. month by month  ;)

You hear that so often when people lose a lot of weight, that people tell you not to lose much more even though you know yourself you're not near your goal yet, and I think it's because most people don't like change do they lol...

You sound just like me! I've spent ages either dieting or saying, "ahh, I'm just a fat person, that's how I'm meant to be". I wasn't shocked when I got on the scales though, I knew how fat I'd got (not the fattest I've ever been mind you) but heavier than I was the day I gave birth to my daughter .

I think my motivation is being overweight, and feeling embarrassed by my size etc has stopped me living my life and I'm sick of it! I don't go out in the evenings (though the chance would be a fine thing with a 4 year old lol), I don't have any hobbies and I avoid everyone who I knew before I put on so much weight! I think simply being so fat has stopped me doing so many things that I would love to do!

More importantly, my daughter is starting school in September and I don't want to be a fat mum! I also want the confidence to be an example for my daughter, who wants a mummy who goes red and stutters when someone talks to her?! I know that losing the weight won't make my shyness disappear, however I know I'll feel better about myself in my appearance, but I'll also feel more in control and stronger. I think losing a large amount of weight is blooming hard work, physically and emotionally. That's why I've so much admiration for you guys and girls on here that have lost so much weight, and most of the time you don't even realize how amazing you are.

Wow, that turned into a bit of a long post.. hehe

Just wanted to say hi. I started at almost 20 stone in March and like you want to get to 11 stone. For me the trick is not to look at the end goal just take it day by day. I seem to have missed out on many years where I could have been living life because of my weight but no more.

For me this time I'm enjoying the journey cos this is the last time i am doing it I will be slim before I get to 50 (2 years to go).

You sound very focused and motivated and will be a great role model for your daughter. Good luck with your plan

Hi Vanda!

your story sounds very similar to mine, and it's great advice to take things day by day - I must confess I was having a few blue moments when I looked at the big picture and how much I have to lose, so I'll try to focus on the here and now for now.

I'm also aiming to be slim in time for my next 'big' birthday - 30 next may! I'm sure we'll be fabulous in beautiful dresses for our respective birthdays!
