Hi All
Please can you tell me yourviews on the Exante vlcd, I'm thinking of starting it. I have been on the other well know one successfully, but need to continue again after xmas but it's very expensive & I don't feel the councelling did much anyway. You opinions would be gratefull appreciated.
Thanks!

Well I LOVE exante.
And you'll find that if other people are posting in this section they like it too!

Losses are the same as on any other vlcd. It's cheap. There are lots of different pack options (single flavour shakes. shakes, soups and bars. Shakes and bars. pick your own etc) And it tastes alright.

this is my 3rd VLCD and I love it !!! The shakes arent as sweet as the CD ones but thats because they dont contain aspartame or any artificial sweetener , and they are far thicker and more filling than other shakes I have tried . The soups are fantastic , I didnt like any of the other VLCD soups but the exante ones are great , the bars are massive and yummy and the porridge is lush ...and the price is amazing . Nothing negative to say about it really :)

I've tried afew, hence my name!

I'm restarting with Exante. The restart is down to me not maintaining not Exante not working.
Like you I've tried other VLCD (Lipotrim and LL). I didn't fine the councilling of LL any more helpful then having a good chat online when you need inspiration.

Eurgh, counselling. Who needs counselling when you've got Minimins?! :D

Exante is great, same average losses as all the other VLCDs, much cheapness and flavours grow on you (except strawberry. Strawberry is evil).

I too prefer the creamier less sweet packs of exante. I hate the dust like bars though.

I need the support of someone to weigh me In and like the variety of Cambridge so I did swap to that.

If you don't need the support of a CDC then I'd highly recommend the exante.

My plan is to put the money difference between LL (yes I started off life on that all those years ago but found it invaluable) towards private counselling when needed with a better qualified counsellor specialising in food issues.

Losing weight is a doddle for me in a VLCD but I'm doing things differently this time to try and change my habits so I don't have to lose 6+ stone for a forth time!

this site is a great substitute for the councelling and its alot to cheaper and better tasting.

I first did Lipotrim, and to be honest, this website was an infinite amount better than the "support" I got from the pharmacist. I knew more than she did. Also, a few times when I went she wasn't in so I had a part time college girl weighing me and stuff. I mean, good for her and all that but it was pretty embaressing for me!!!

Anywhooo... I love Exante, so easy to stick to because the flavours are delish. Not only are the flavours great but the support here is fab!

I have to say that is rather belittling of the issues.

Try telling those with other addictions that a forum can help them as much as counselling and see how far you get.

Having lost substantial amounts of weight twice to get to goal whilst being a member of 2 forums I can tell you I've tried it and although its nice having the forum it really won't take the place of professional counselling.

Many on both my weight loss forums don't even get close to goal despite the support of a bunch of strangers on the internet. Im now working getting to goal for a third time.

Those who feel the need for counselling to deal with their food issues would hardly consider a forum as anywhere close to the help and insights a professional can give.

I think in a lot of ways a forum CAN be a form of counselling. I have no interest whatsoever in seeing a counsellor nor did I when I suffered a family bereavement but by pouring out my feelings thoughts and emotions in my diary I got things out in the open and got some incredible support and feedback. I've posted on here when I've been in some very dark places and always greatly benefited from it

I guess it depends what you're looking for but IMO given the choice of counselling or Minimins there's no question what I'd choose

I've learned a lot about myself and my food issues on here
