    Hey everyone,

I'm stuck. I have binge eating disorder and am currently undergoing therapy which is going really well. End of last year I was doing great, healthy etc but in January uni got very stressful and then I lost two of my grandparents and as a result I have gained over a stone in 8 weeks. It's gone to places it hasn't before and I find it hard to even dress now as nothing fits and I'm so unhappy.

i want that stone off ASAP but I also have 1.5 more to lose. I'm currently 11 stone though so I'm wondering if s&s will work for me? I need structure and regular eating I don't have to think about while I work through everything. I have protein powder and thought about doing my own version but I don't want to get sick or anything. Also I will be working out as I need to change my body.

I'm thinking of doing lifestyle and I'd like to be at goal in 12 weeks. Is that unreasonable or shall I go for it?

    Rach xx

If I was you I would talk to your therapist about whether it would help or not. It is a really tough diet and you are almost a healthy weight for your height. If you are making good progress with the therapy then it would be a shame to get in the way of that. I know for some people it can trigger bingeing because it is so extreme.

On the other hand it can sometimes give a real sense of calm to look at the issues when food isn't in the equation. I have found this particularly helpful. I've been doing a Compassion Focussed Therapy Group at the same time as doing this and it has made a lot of sense in dealing with anxiety and upsetting situations when I don't have food to resort too.

You would lose the weight but I think being able to change your relationship with food might be more important to you. Discuss it at your therapy and then you can make an informed decision.

Hi Clinquant and thank you for you're reply :)

i was was still mulling it over yesterday and the restrictions on the plan plus the fact the consequences in terms of huge weight gain, knock out of ketosis etc if I fall off the wagon seem like too much of a risk unfortunately. My box has just arrived so il be sending it back and luckily I get a refund. :)

Thanks for your help and good luck with the rest of your journey :)
