Is this for me?

Hi there, I am thinking about starting LT after seeing a friend last week who had done it and had done really well. Like others on this forum I have yo yo dieted for the last 15 years with no success. As soon as I say the word diet the cravings kick in. Will power is not my strongest assett. I want to lose approx 4 - 5 stone in weight but I have one problem as a family we like our holidays.

I go on an all inclusive holiday in 5 weeks and would ideally like to lose some weight (1 - 1.5 stones if possible ) before I go. The things is I would like to eat relatively normally / lower fat foods on holiday (I dont tend to pile weight on whilst on all inclusive holidays) and start LT again when I get back to get off any weight I do gain on holiday and hopefully lose some more before Christmas. Not knowing too much about LT other than from what my friend has told me and the official website I am not sure if this will be possible. Am I just kidding myself that this will be possible.

Please can someone give me a bit of advice.

Hi Sue, 5 weeks is very "do able" You could do LT for 4 weeks and refeed the week before the hol (it's exactly what I'm doing at the moment)
You could lose a minimum of a stone, but more likely one and a half to two as you've got quite a bit to lose (no offence hun) Go for it!! xx

Hi Sue, Cathy is right, it is doable and could be the kickstart to a skinnier you by your hols. If at all possible stick to no alcohol, lean protein and salad while away to make the restart easier on yourself.
