No it isnt.

That only counts for foods without any free food allowance - sweets, crisps, junk food etc. Basically, any food that is free on red/green/extra easy cannot be calculated using this method -that also counts if it is a significant part of a product (for instance a chicken ready meal - the chicken would be free food, so you couldn't use the 1 syn = 20 calories rule). There are all sorts of exceptions (you couldnt give a free food allowance for the chicken in a chicken sandwich for example, as there isnt enough filling for it to count - so in that case the 1 syn = 20 calories rule DOES work). There's a long list when you look on the syns calculator on the slimming world official site.

If you applied that rule to everthing, you'd use up your syns allowance in next to no time and you'd starve!
