You guys are right - when people start noticing it and commenting on it will be a big day! And there are new things every day. Its making me not miss eating because I can remind myself Why I am doing this - those brief moments when I fancy a cake or fry up are getting more fleeting. Perhaps because I have a proper target in mind, and 2 and a half stone doesn't feel that much anymore, now I'm already a stone down!

Have you ever noticed how much food is all around you? Not just physical food, like walking past a favourite restraunt, but images and jokes. For instance, I was binge watching How I Met Your Mother, and there was an entire episode based around the search for a perfect burger. I flip through magazines and nail polishes are likened to sorbets or sweets. Clothes are advertised by girls eating ice cream posed on a bicycle. It's amazing isn't it, how we are trained to see food as a good treat, an aspirational thing and a part of normal life. Cutting out food is really handy for re assessing how I react to food, and why.

I have introduced the bars now to my diet and I have to say they are pretty good - I love the peanut butter one ! Tis pretty lush. I can sort out my squirrel tooth once a week, and the malt toffee ones take a good while to get through. They are far more filling then I thought they would be as well which was a pleasant surprise. Does anyone know if it would be an awful thing though to buy some of the Exante bars to use in place of the CD ones? Only because they have some really interesting flavours, same with the shakes, but I need someone to measure me once a week or I won't stick to it. So I'm thinking of every now and then swapping out a CD for an Exante to keep the taste buds excited!

Also, so very bored of water....had my flavouring for the day!

Also a bit of a whinge. I had my injections ready for flying today - Hep A+B and Typhoid. And damn my Typhoid arm is aching like anything! I have to go back next Friday for the next one, then a bit later for the final one and get my malaria tabs sorted. Mosquitoes love biting me (apparently I have sweet blood!) so I must be super vigilant (Zika, Malaria, Japanese Encephiliatis and Dengue Fever are all in the areas I am travelling to..). Severl bottles of mozzy spray in the suitcase!

Anything interesting happening to you lot?

So. I'm stranded miles away from home due to a travel miscommunication and without any of my shakes or bars. Argh.

There's a Bbq happening so I'm going with a bbqed chicken breast and a green salad. Hopefully won't do too much damage. Isn't it always the way thatbest laid plans bite you on the bum. I'm going to view it as a challenge - can I stick to a healthy plate of food while everyone around me is eating all the good stuff? Let's see...

Oh noo. I hope the BBQ won't be too bad! You do seem like your head is in the right place, stick to protein (but be aware of surprise glazes on things...) and a little salad and you should stay in ketosis. I read somewhere the body can't process more than 30g pure protein in one go - but I think you'll be ok. Keep drinking water as a way to distract yourself, I know it'll be hard but once the diet is over you'll be able to enjoy the summer and relax a little more at functions. This is just one of many that you need to be a bit more careful at. :) While some don't recommend diet soda (like coke etc) on these diets due to the citric acid having a possible effect on ketosis, I never really found it to affect me, so everyone is different. If you really feel like you'd like to have a little extra, have a small glass of diet coke. It will feel like a treat and in small amounts, on occasion shouldn't affect ketosis even if you're susceptible.
In the future maybe buy an extra bar and keep it as a backup at the bottom of your bag, it's what I used to do, just in case plans took a turn against what I expected.

As for swapping some packs from CD to Exante - I think just have a look at comparing the nutritional values of packs generally, but, since they're all ketogenic diets and work on the same principles it should be ok - provided the number of packs per day required are the same as they'll be split in different ways if not. :) Do what you feel will make it easier for you to stick to this as it'll be worth it.

Good luck!

Goodluck, just have one and get back on it tomorrow!

You will be fine :)

As for Exante, check values of products in comparison to ones you are on now.

Also with Cambridge Diet some consultants require full weeks to be purchased and won't condone you mixing and matching different diet brands.

If your CDC is cool then go for it! Also have you tried speaking to them about being stranded as they might give some advice/moral support so you don't over do it :)

I managed to stick to it about 90%! Yay! I am proud of myself. I had a chicken breast with some fresh herbs and spices and a plate of spinach, and later a hatf boiled egg. Also took your hint and had a couple glasses of coke zero over the evening which felt like a lovely treat - and most importantly avoided the home made triple layer chocolate cake. I did have a small handful of peanuts though. ..so not perfect but think I did pretty well all things considered!

So not perfect and I know I'm probably gonna have a tough couple of days but I managed to be 90% ok which is good. I avoided bread, cheese, guacamole, ketchup, sausages, and burgers. So it actually fills me with a bit of confidence that when I come off the diet my approach to food will be much better. Which is exactly what I wanted. As recently as 3 weeks ago I would have seen it as an opportunity to pile up my plate and 'treat myself' by eating all the lovely things. Instead the coke zero was more than enough which I never thought I'd say.

So from less than ideal situations a silver lining has appeared. My attitude is already changing and I' valuing the weight loss and health over fun and socialising.

That's a good point ab2the nutrition values - totally didn't think of that! I will check it out later when I am home and see how it all measures up. I'm also thinking when I am off travelling I may buy a few bars to chuck in the backpack so o don't end up in this situation - and extra bars is a really good tip too thanks! It's amazing how you overlook the simple solution sometimes isn't it?

Have a great Sunday everyone

Your post made me really happy, so much positivity and good vibes! I love it. You did so incredibly well, the first function on these diets is always the hardest, but you went through it with flying colours, next time it will be easier still. :)

I'm a level 90 Mage (not got WoD yet so capped out) Panderan as main at the moment. It popped up last time I logged in - summoned to one of the beaches to start fighting the burning legion type thing. The incursion begins. It's the first time I've been online to get in on the ground level so should be fun!

What do you play as?

I'm a Troll Hunter, though I did play a bit as a Troll Disc Priest in this expansion too as I feel they totally screwed my class up. Oh well.

WoD leveling was actually a lot of fun - hopefully you'll enjoy it when you get it (or have you bought it I may have misunderstood? :) )

I'm tempted to, but I generally wait for the expansion packs to become part of the standard rather than shelling out for it. It means I'm a bit behind but saves me money :) tempted to upgrade this time though! I'm getting frustrated with not having access to so many of the new features.

I hate it when they mess with classes. My mage was so messed with a few patches back - abilities were removed or nerfed , then assigned to a higher level. Just messed my spec so much I completely respecced to Frost over Arcane. Hey ho.

Well done Nadia! The bbq sounds great and it's fab to see you think your attitude to food is changing too. My son had a cricket match tonight and everyone had to bring cake and picnic for a celebratory tea afterwards...me and my sparkling water did just fine. :) Hope you have a great week xx

Thanks guys :) I'm feeling pretty good about myself.

I also popped into Primark to buy some new Jammies as all I have are thick long sleeved beasts and I was sweltering. I actually was brave and bought a size 14-16 short set. And they fit! I mean a bit tight but not too bad. Normally I went for the 18-20 so it's a good feeling. I'm planning on wearing them on holiday so hopefully they will be comfy - or even loose by then, which hopefully will be in 2.5 stone time.

I am wondering about my size vs weight today. I've never looked like I weigh as much as I do. At my biggest I was 17st 11 and I still wore a size 18 dress. 16 sometimes. Didn't wear jeans though I think a size 18 would've fit. Yet other people at this weight seem to be larger. I am thinking it's my Boobs . Unfortunately I am 'blessed' with some magnificent Boobs - currently a 34-36 K. When I was a size 12 they were still a F or G. A lot of people have used them as a signifier before when describing me to people. Previously I was a trainer in a call centre and newbies were told to talk to me - 'the one with the boobs'. That's not a unique incident. Honestly I don't know what I'd do if they dissappeared, they are so much a part of who I am. But by the same token, I know that I can't judge my target weight by my actual weight as having previously drunkenly been encouraged to weigh them by my mostly male friends, they are 2 stone all together. So clothing size is a lot more important to me, specifically jeans. It's a real journey to discover that your body is unique, and that what works for someone else ('at your height no more than 9stone7!') Is utterly unattainable for yourself due to so many reasons. You have to learn to love your body because no matter how much you lose or gain, it is still inherently your body with all the flaws and features that make it unique and beautiful. It's taken me years to accept it.

Has anyone else had realisations like this? Or had diets and weightless make you reassess things about yourself?

In other news - such a bad tummy today, it's like water! Tmi I know. I'm thinking coke zero knocked me out of ketosis and my body's now kicked back into it. That's me taught a lesson:sick0019:

We should form a club Big Boobs United. You have me beat by a smidge though I'm 36 H but also only 5ft 2 so basically I'm all boob up top as I'm short waisted as well. It's been a part of who I am all my life though. it's not really commented on anymore due to age and my dress style (low cut tops are a thing of history.) I must admit when I lost a lot of weight 10 years ago I hated the fact that I want from an hourglass (even if over blown) to more of a pear. I'll never lose the big thighs (sigh). Even worse being in my 40's lets just say they weren't exactly perky anymore.

Also I had to accept that I I'll never be a waif like my friends I am of stocky build, My wrists are bigger than my husbands, I can't wear ladies bracelets and my feet are extra wide. You are what you are and I'm lucky I'm of an age that I can wear what I want not what fashion tries to tell me too.

Ha we totally should! I'm about the same im 5'3" so I'm all boob. I really hope I don't lose the hourglass shape I would be gutted. Fingers crossed. Still wearing low cut things just because I find them more flattering than the dreaded shelf boob. And they tend to do their own thing a lot of the time - often need popping back into their assigned seating .

I must admit it's nice to know other people are in the same boat as me !

It's taken me a while to accept my body shape and while I wish I had more boob, I know that those blessed with them don't see them as *too* much of an asset due to backaches and the like. I'm 5'4 and at 18st I was a size 22/24, but I have an all around fat distribution, so when I lost the weight and went to size 6/8 I was pretty much flat chested. =| Not something I want at all, so I won't be wanting to go down that low again. I seem to also have a wide ribcage and wide hip bones (which isn't so bad, as I seem to get a natural hourglass shape), so even at my smallest size I was still wearing 36A / 36B, I mean o_O At size 14, I'm 36C right now as it is, so I just have to lightly curse my body for getting rid of the breast fat first. Pff. Still I have to be grateful for no apple shape, I have a 'flattish' tummy from the front, so I'm at least happy with that.

I'm sorry the Coke Zero seems to have had an effect - some people are a little more susceptible to it, it seems. But it's sometimes better than the alternative? I hope your stomach is less rumbly today. x

I get the boob thing and not looking your weight, too. I was having a conversation with a lady at work the other day and she was saying 'I can't believe I'm almost 10 stone, it's the heaviest I've ever been.' Now admittedly she's a lot shorter than me, but I was honestly shocked, as I would have said she weighed much more than that. She's not really fat or anything, I just know if I was 10 stone I would actually look skinny and she definitely doesn't. I guess we all just have very different bodies!

Great news about the pjs. Hope you feel better soon xx

It's so nice to hear that so many people have things about their bodies that they had to learn to accept - from big boobs to small boobs to everything in between. I mean that in the nicest of ways - we are all human! I used to think that everyone else was born with this innate confidence and comfort in their own skin that I missed out on. Turns out I was wrong about thinking I was the only one , huh?

Anyway. New job is awful. Selling loft insulation. Gah. But...rent needs paying. And I'm not one to mither and moan so the positive is that I don't get chance to think about food all day as I don't stop wittering on about open cell foam structure.

HOWEVER. I have just returned from my weigh in, after last weekends BBQ. It was measurement day (DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNNN!) so I was dreading it. I really wasn't expecting to lose anything at all this week what with the upheaval and all, and I felt fat if you know what I mean? You get those weeks where all you can see is the bit that wobbles that shouldn't, or nothing fits right, or your bum breaks another wine glass. I fell through a deckchair on the weekend. Luckily i think it was old and knackered rather than my bum as it was previously holding my 6ft broad male friend who Im fairly certain is at least the same if not more than me, but it made a terrible impact on my esteem. And my tailbone. Luckily I managed to laugh it off within a few hours.

I digress.

So. Got on the scales - 3lb off! I was so happy! Then measurments. 3/4 of an inch off arms (least fave part of body), 1 and 1/4 off thighs, 2 inches off the chest , 1 and 1/2 off hips and a whopping 3 and 3/4 off my waist measurment. Thats a total inch loss of 9 and 3/4 in a single month. I am over the moon! Such a good feeling and I'm hoping in the next week or so to see the next weight bracket.

Hope everyone else gets good results!
