I am Jay,
I am 34 from London and have always been up and down with my weight, and I have tried various diets/fads and have always found that a low carb diet has worked for me.
Last May I was at the gym and I tore a muscle in my chest.. I was in agony and since then I have not returned to the gym and have been eating various bad foods on a daily basis. My Better half was also pregnant at the time and I followed her cravings with KFC, Burger King and various other junk food giants at the same time.
I knew I was putting on weight before Christmas as my clothes were getting tight and then tighter and then I had to buy new clothes to fit.. Then Christmas came along and again I over indulged as you do.
It was only last week that the new jeans that I brought to accommodate my increase in weight started feeling tight! This prompted me to start this diet and change the way I looked and how I felt.
I had always battled with my weight as I enjoy Junk food to much however was able to keep steady with regular visits to the gym "3-4 times a week" and keeping to low carb throughout the week and eating what I wanted on weekends.
Monday the 24th I called the consultant from the Cambridge Diet website and made an appointment to see her. "She lives in the same road2 it must be fate. I got my packs from her and here I am today.
Ok so day 3 for me I started 25th February 2014 and was told that I could have 4 packs a day.
The last 3 days I have been very strict and kept to the plan 100% I have a shake at 0800 and at 1200. When I get home I have a soup at 1600 and another soup at 2000. I have never consumed so much water in my life and have to admit I miss the diet coke.. I only drink the gold diet coke that’s caffeine free and thought this would be acceptable but was told water only..
I have felt the following side effects:
Headaches
Dizziness
Cramp
Fatigue
Stomach Rumbles
Stomach Cramp "Left side"
Increase in sensitivity in smells "I can smell food from across the office"
Increase to visits to the toilet "water to blame"
I see the above as a negative thing and have read that these are only temporary "I hope that’s the case"
On a positive note I have felt proud that I have stuck to it and know I can do this, I get a great feeling of encouragement when I read various posts on the forum and have replied to some good posts in order to support others that are prob having the same/similar thoughts.
I shall check in when I can and update my diary and let you know how I get on.
Thanks for reading
