Joined tonight, stressed about how to start...

Hi everyone,

I actually managed to get to a slimming world meeting tonight and do the weigh in etc. Never done anything like this before but I'm so unhappy with myself for being overweight.
The problem is I've got no imagination when it comes to meals etc, I dont feel like the group I went to was very good. The consultant rattled off her new member shpeel without really even looking at me! I really need someone to help me put a shopping list together and a diet plan for just a week to help me start things off. I can't get my head round it, and as I work during the week a lot of the lunch ideas I see are not viable for lunches for me.
Can anyone help? :sigh:

Hi and welcome. Well done. The hardest part for me was getting to my first class. It took 3 weeks before I went in.

Post your query about lunches in the SW section and I am sure you will get ideas. Also suggest you look at a few food diaries for ideas.

Thanks Irene, I've been thinking about it for ages and feel disappointed now i've been as I'd have hoped I could get more individual advice to start me off.

welcome to slimming world. Some groups are better than others and I would encourage you to shop around til you find one that works for you.

Do you like cooking? Do you live on your own? what kind of things do you like to eat? have you tried other weight loss plans?

On the SW website theres a 7 day plan to try for the first week. I did it and found it really easy to follow.

I work long days (13 hours) so have to take breakfast, lunch and dinner. here's lots of options for you.

Good luck, you've found a valuable resource with this site, there's loads of good ideas and friendly folk.
