Just wanted to say hello...first week weigh in!

#1
Just wanted to say hello to all you fellow Exante dieters.

I lost over three stones, on lighter life, in 2006 and in five years have alomost managed to put it all back on!!
Unfortunately life dictates my eating habbits and so much has happened from then to now. Most recently, last August, loosing my best friend, my wonderful amazing mum, To the dreaded Cancer.

Anyway I feel it was time to to take control and now I feel strong enough to do this. (With a little help from my Mum up there!!) The feeling of being in control is brilliant. I definately know that I will loose the lbs. I am being realistic with my wait loss though. I did drop to 10 stones but just could not maintain it. I will be happy being a 12/14 instead of 16/18. Hovering between 11 and 11.7 lbs.

VLCD definately work!! You have to remain strong and very focussed. There are times when you want to give up or stop.....BUT the feeling of being slim always keeps me going. None of us are perfect and if we nibble a piece of chicken or the odd chocolate button then you need to gain focus and move on. You are not a failure.

I look forward to getting to know some of you. This site is an invaluable tool!! It helped and I know it is going to help me tremendously on my weight loss journey.

Well it has been a week and I have lost 8lbs!! A super start. Also it was TOTM!! So very thrilled!!
Hubby is also doing it and he has lost 9lbs...A little bit of competition!!
(I find weekends the hardest!! So pleased it's Monday!!)

Good luck to you all.

xx

Hi Foodjunkie, Sorry to hear about your Dad. I will never get over loosing my mum but I will stop the emotional eating. She will be so proud of me for making a start on loosing weight. She was so proud when I lost it on LL. She was the person who kept me going.

Hello Star, welcome to our merry band and good luck with your journey. You've had a great start :) I did LL previously and also put a lot back on, but it's so worth getting back on track and focusing on what you want and how to get there. Good luck with the competition with your hubby, hopefully it will help keep you both focused :)

Anyway, wanted to say welcome and good luck, hope week 2 goes well too

Welcome stardreamer, sorry about your loss x
What a great support to have your husband doing this with you. I'm also a 2nd time arounder, I think I'm much more prepared for the end result this time. Good luck on your journey x

Hi and welcome! I lost my dad when he was 65 and I was 32, cruelly short. I know what it's like to turn to food in those circumstances. Good luck on your journey x

Just a quick update. It's day 14 and in total I have lost 11lbs and my hubby has lost 15lbs. I am really pleased and feel very much in the zone. It is 8 weeks today till our family holiday to Cyprus. The thought of being thin on the beach just keeps me going!!
Weekends are the worst.....but tomorrow is Monday!!
Good luck to you all.
xx
