:rolleyes: Hi every1, i'm just wondering if its possible to hav 2 reg shakes a day and 1 meal, say chicken or tuna salad or stir fry and no carbs ?
i ask this because i love the restriction of lt, because if i on ww or healthy eating i tend to break it and say i'll start tommo!
as u can c from my stats i've lost 24lb in 4 weeks but am gettin so much stick of my friends and family now as they keep saying "cant be healthy" but i kno if i was eating once aday they would be happy

so do u think this is possible, that i would still lose weight even if it was slower?:(

cant wait for your comments and advice

thanks

Hiya Chick (Just replied to this in the maint section) lol

Yup you can do this, just eat the foods that are on the refeed menu and have your two shakes, its known as the maintenance programme..

You will still lose weight but it wont be as quick as TFR xxx

thanks chelly was not sure which thread to put it on :( so thankas for answering both! think its because i was sick that they all getting at me :( and was thinking that it could work if i stayed off the carbs and drink ?? will think about it over weekend :)

Its completley up to you chick! at the end of the day its your decision and you cant let anyone force you :) xxx

Also, I never got a reply from that email :(

chelly is there anywhere on here i can c like a maintainence menu? like what is actually allowed or reccomanded and what isnt? i cant find anything :(

Hi Nicolas,
as Chelly says above, yes you can lose weight like that. I wonder with the vibro plate is it advisable anyway for you to eat as it is supposed to burn off a lot of calories therefore you perhaps should be eating whilst using it. Love the inch losses on it, must be fab. Sorry you are getting stick over the diet, at the moment I am getting shock and admiration but no doubt if I was your weight people would start to give me a hard time, I can't wait till that happens actually!!
Have a chat with your chemist and see what their line on it is. If you were eating and using the vibro, I can't see why you couldn't continue to lose, albeit not as fast as TFR but it may suit you better.
Wishing you all the best with what you decide to do.

thanks doirin i cert dont think it lt that caused me to be sick i think its just a bug, but its hard to explain to them :( i want to lose what i've lost allready again and even at that i wont b at my ideal weight for my height but i kno if i was 10 and half st i'd by happy with myself, but not drinking doesnt bother me and i think if i have the 2 shakes 1 meal and vibro and horse id still feel i was under the control if lt if u get me, :)

Hi Nicolas,
I know you had the bug hon, I said sorry you are getting 'stick' not 'sick', which means getting a hard time. I agree that you are probably better off starting refeed and exercising as you are doing if that seems like the best plan for you. If the vibro is working like it has for you this last week you will be at goal in no time and fully toned too. Best of luck.

oh ha ha ha sorry doirin :( ya dunno will think about it over weekend read a few threads and decide monday, but all information and advice greatly received ;)

Hi Nic

I feel rather sorry that you are getting stick.....what I dont understand it, that people dont seem to give us stick when we are overweight, obese and really making our health struggle......let's be honest, some of us could have really had serious health problems if it were not for coming onto LT! But, NO one ever seems to say anything!! I just find it hard.

So, now that you have found something that you find is suitable, they then are negative and keep nagging you and giving you stick! So unfair. Surely, you are adult enough to know what is right and wrong for you!!!

I had stick at the beginning and this was from a friend who is a cancer specialist and just said this was wrong, blah, blah, blah! I nearly came off it becaues she brought me down so much and I people still say it isnt healthy. But, you know, I have never felt healthier in my life! I am almost 2 and a half stone lighter and my BMI is coming down every week! Surely that is testament in itself that it is helping us.

But, unfortunately, you have to live close to your family, etc....but I just find is sad that you are almost there...you havent got that much to lose to get to the goal you have put on your ticker.....say, 5-6 weeks! And, you will no doubt be so happy with yourself.....

I probably sound very harsh, but I get so annoyed at the way people judge LT...it is a program that has been designed specifically for obese people and I dont believe doctors of pharmacists would touch it if it was at all dangerous. Yes, there can be some bad press, etc..but you can say that about everything in life.

You have to make your own decision, but dont be bullied into it because others are giving you a hard time.

I have just had an op and my consultant was happy with me sticking with the diet as they can see I am healthy and I told them I would come off it as soon as I felt unwell.....I know my body better than anyone.

Right, rant over!!

I will be thinking of you and make the decision for you...take on board what everyone is saying, but YOU do WHAT YOU WANT TO DO...not because of what others want.

Take good care of yourself and you have done so well and are so dedicated to the program.

Will be thinking of you.

thanks very much scotsmist, ya i work with my mum so litterly every day twice 3 times aday asking how i feelin did i go to the toilet u have enough lost etc, i work in a shop deli so wont b hard to stick to the chicken and tuna salad etc, but as i said appreciate all the advice and information, how u feeling after your op?

I can understand how hard that is sweetie.....sometimes it is easier to compromise, I realise. I believe you will do the right thing for you and you know how much you can take. I am just a stubborn, Scottish bugger at times!!! hahaha...so, if someone tells me not to, I think I do the opposite ;-)!!

I am ok....I got up today, got dressed, etc. got out to the allotment and I think I just did too much. I even cooked tonight as I had picked some broadbeans and wanted to make a nice broadbean and feta salad for my hubby!!! I know, mad!!!! Now, I feel shattered....I was in a wee bit of pain earlier, but the painkillers have taken now so feel ok. Just want to get back to normal and get out and do my weeding!!! sad, I know...haha

I will be thinking of you...and I am sure you can still do it, with the one meal, just slower, but you are doing great with the power plate (cant wait to get mine)! So, you may lose more...just do what you want, that is all I will say...if you are not 100% sure about coming off, dont.

Have a great weekend though.

Hi

I think you could get away with the two shakes & a meal, but if you don't actually want to do it that way & are just doing it for the sake of others reactions that's a real shame. I think people are often uncomfortable after a while with the idea of the person they know so well changing, I know that when I lost three & a half stone on LighterLife, while I was still teetering on the overweight side of BMI, a lot of friends were saying I'd got "too thin" & looked emaciated, though I was still nowhere near their "normal" size.

I have also had a lot of comments about it being unhealthy, to which my response is generally that it's not healthy to be at this weight either with all the health implications that come with it.

I am just a bit concerned that you might be taking their comments above your own feelings on the programme & you should take a bit of time to decide whether it's really worth slowing the results down to appease them.

That said, good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Hannah
