Evening all,
Ok well spain is starting to look likely - i do what i'm told. Even though each bit is good value, it does seem to add up for the three of us. Still it's a good excuse and i will dream of sunshine (not expect it lol). Targetting a cheap all inclusive hotel near malaga - mixed reviews but has just been refurbished. Hopefully they finish before we get there will include a day trip to gibraltar too as lived and worked there for a couple of years 02-04 and will be nice to see people.
Otherwise a good day today - emails, dancing, gym plus interviewed and recruited a new volunteer for my charity
I'm already dreaming of sunshine on your behalf lol. Flight schedules haven't been released for this summer yet so we can't even look at when we can go over to the villa.
Afternoon all - well thanks for your encouragement - flights all booked and now just trying to decide on accommodation. Luckily DH just got a refund from National insurance folk so i am looking slightly more up market for an apartment - resort i fancy has an indoor pool so that will probably be useful also a spanish friend is flying in to join us - she was our aupair about 4 years ago- that will make it all jolly
First maintenance WI on friday and up slightly to 80.5 - not too bothered as i often bounce up after a larger loss. Also managed to wear the ultra skinny trousers that i have been waiting to get into - felt comfortable and confident so getting there!
Been to zumba this morning, nice sossies for lunch, done DDs maths homework (to much wailing and gnashing of teeth:eek) ) and having a restful afternoon. Then out with friends tonight to expensive restaurant in town - it's birthday time again. This time last year i had just started and managed to avoid the worst of the excesses! This year planning to find something friendly for the main but just perhaps sneak a little pud in
Well a lovely night out - we were at the skylon grill at the royal festival hall - amazing views across the thames of all the lit up buildings
some food porn:
Aperitif - rum and soda
Starter - avoided the bread and had a wonderful duck and watermelon salad. Turned out to have 4 teeny cubes of melon and loads of baby spinach leaves so lovely and legal on maintenance
Main - split a chateaubriand steak with my friend - wow that was amazing - with green beans and baby carrots (again legal)
Dessert - realised i was too full to order one or even have my brownie atkins bar so asked for a spoon. That meant i got 3 teaspoon tastes:
-Chocolate crumble with fruit compote
-Lemongrass creme brulee
- treacle tart
All washed down with plenty of lovely austrian white wine and cotes du rhone red
Expensive; delicious; highly recommended!
A busy couple of days - rather overdid the exercise yesterday (2 dance classes and the gym) so decided to have today off! Been reading some of the primal site (marks daily apple) - really interesting reading (low carb with an 80/20 focus) but he also talks a lot about the dangers of over-exercising and chronic cardio. I dont think i quite meet that category lol but dont want to kill all my joints or pull anything
Also finally knuckled down to write some of my dissertation - the deadline looms mid feb amd now we are off to spain, i need to get it finished by the end of next week hate doing this sort of stuff- sigh
On the food side having a pleasant but fairly low carb week - had my dessert tasting last weekend and off to the parents in law this weekend - so want to make sure that my maintenance doesnt start off too dangerously
