Lambshanks????

Whilst shopping today, I got a really good bargain on lambshanks which was too good to resist.

I love lamb and know a few ways to cook them which probably could be adapted for SW, but I haven't seen any already on the site and am just beginning to wonder, are lambshanks allowed on RED days?? :confused:

Could someone please advise before I make the mistake of eating them when maybe I shouldn't!

P.S. Any recipe ideas gratefully accepted!
 
If you go on the official SW site and look up their recipe archive there is a recipe for braised lamb shanks. You cook them slowly over three hrs, although I did them in our slow cooker for 7 hrs - the meat was falling off the bone....yummy!! The only thing I found hard was trying to cut off all the visible fat. The recipe had 2 syns I think...The shanks were braised in a tin of chopped tomatoes, stock, celery and carrots - not sure where the syns came from. In answer to your question. I don't know if the shanks are free, but I hope this helps. xo
