Does anyone ever feel like their life is on hold while on this diet? It's not just the feeling of not being able to eat but the anticipation/desperation of wanting to be slim. I am trying not to feel this way and get on with things but I dunno it feels like I'm in a void waiting to move on. I still do my daily things but do feel like my life is on hold at the moment!

Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me? It's a really odd feeling but I'm like this alot, if I worry about something I feel like I can't do anything until it's sorted. Wish i was more laid back!

    Hi there,

I totally get that. On one side I try to keep busy, but I try to do that either alone, or with just a select few. I pre warned my mates that I'm going to pretty much be MIA for the next 6 weeks and just said I've got a 'full diary'... (luckily I have a few different 'groups' if friends so each were told I had plans with another). I did this nit because I can't handle being around food and booze, but because I can't be bothered to explain the diet and justify why it's not going to kill me (funny how people create an opinion based on nothing but ignorance)

But anyway, I don't really mind putting things on hold, this is and always has been about ME and actually, if I choose to step away from the social scene in order to reach my goal I will. Once I hit my goal I'm straight back out there socialising. Until then, yes I will be a boring old fart, what is 6 weeks in comparison to a lifetime of slim?

Even if you have more than 6 weeks to go, so what? It's no time at all in comparison to getting yourself into the body you want, and moving forward into the life that you want for the slimmer you!!

Yay!!! 6 weeks is what I'm aiming for!!! And as u say it's a drop in the ocean. I did it for 10 weeks last time (3 years ago) surely I can do it for less than that!!!!!

I can understand how you feel, I have told everyone I am doing this and any socializing people know I can't eat (and it doesn't bother me). It is not a prison sentence but my choice. They see how happier I am becoming and how much better I feel. I am a catepillar going along and about to emerge as a butterfly! But not going to lock myself in a chrysalis. Jayne x

No - I always plan courses and activities throughout SSing - I have been auditioning and I was in a play and went to the aftershow until 3 in the morning a few weeks ago - it was tiring but I did it! I thought I turned down social events, but no more than I usually do because I felt too fat.

f I'm honest there are some "friends" I didn't want to see me at over 16st so in doing CD I am taking my life off hold. It's all down to that 'The two types of people on CD' theory - do you see yourself in a prison or acting on your choice...

After all, what's on hold - how often do I really eat with other people? If I was saving up for a house deposit, people would give me a few months of saying 'I'm not drinking or eating out' I'm still me, and alive!

Yeh totally!! I also obsess about the diet! I think about it every minute of every day rather than just getting on with things. It's like when I am binging I am obsessed with fod, when I am fasting I am obsessed with no food

Two ways to look at it:

Time will pass whatever you do, so why not spend some time getting slim/fit/healthy.

You do not have to do this! I always say "I can't have this, I cant have that." But I can have whatever I want in reality. I am just chosing not to have those things, becuase I have a much more important goal at this time.
