    Hello
I hope everyone is doing well in their plans.

There has been some (at times controversial) discussions recently about 100% SS, SS+, SS+ with some added extras etc.
It used to be that the 100% post forum was used by those whom were 100% food replacement. Recently there have been more and more posts there that mention food.

Could we try to post messages containing food here, in the general section? That way, anyone who is having a shaky day, can go to the 100% forum with the confidence they won't have to read about any food which tempt them?

Also - we used to place a warning in the thread title **food mentioned** just so people can make the choice whether they are in the right frame if mind to read it.
Writing about food is a part of being on CD (whether its cravings, off plan food, mistakes, planned meals or food porn!) so we just need a good way to label it, so all these essential conversations can take place, without hindering someone else's progress.

As per the thread title, I do not mean this message to cause upset or hurt. It is not directed at any particular people.

Minimins has helped me to lose 4stone. Without this board, I would not have made it. I just want others to benefit from it as much as me. And I think if we can move back towards using these principles, the board will be more supportive for all.

Good luck with your losses this week!

I think that wouldn't help in my own opinion as your going to be facing food temptations where ever you are, out and about watching tv or reading a magazine, one of the things i found is that being around those foods/temptations is actually good for you, as you can look / read what people are having learn from that and even realise that your now aware of what that food has in it. in the form of calories / fat and be wiser for it.
For example one of my newest tv shows that I recently discovered is a show call diners drive-ins and dives, and I can happily sit there and watch that, thinking to myself yes that looks nice but look at the fat dripping out if it or how much cheese an oil are they using, I I used to eat that sort of thing no wonder I was as big ad I was.

    I partly agree with you.
Whilst SSing I become obsessed with sniffing my OH dinner and watch any tv show with cooking or food!

However, I do not watch these shows when I am having a really hard day. I, as do others, come on here for support. And it would be good to control what I read.

In difficult days, I choose not to watch my favourite food shows. I would hate to have to choose not to log into minimins as that this is where I get my support!

I appreciate everyone is different. But it seems fair to let people be informed - so they have a choice.

Just so you know - I have been in this diet awhile, and am confident I can cope with food mentions. The 'me' that started back in January certainly wouldn't have coped so well, so I think this change would benefit all. It is not just a personal request.

I must say I tend to agree with Saxman. Presumably we're all on here because we want to lose weight and somehow improve our eating habits! Food is always around us. At work, at home, going out to the shops for even non related food items. And not sure I agree with tagging headlines food mentioned. Because if I read about somebody not doing so well and eating what they wish they hadn't it helps me to know that other folk have the same temptations as me. Just my opinion though I know everyone thinks differently :)

Its fine to post about food I think just not in the 100% forum where people may not want to hear about people slipping up and ordering a pizza or whatever. Each to there own, if you're cool with reading about all the blips (doesnt bother me 1 bit) read all over minimins, just dont post in 100% where some people dont want to hear it. Last week there was that whole hooha about posting about cheating and bragging about losing weight, people were quick enough to say well if it offends you stick to 100% forum. So lets just keep it 100%, shouldn't be tricky should it?

Another member remarked recently that the 100% section is very quiet! As far as I know any post that mentions food in that section is moved. I agree that it should be for those doing the plan 100% but some don't realise that they should not mention food there!

At the end of the day we are all here for the same reason and those who are struggling need us to get them through it weather they have had a blip or not.

Im sure we have all cheated at some point.. and weather its on here or another thread we have all got the support from each other

Food is every where and its up to us as an individual to get through this journey by being strong and having the wilpower and help from others in the same boat

    xx

100% means 100%, i.e no food, that's what the forum was specifically designed for, so if people want to mention food, surely they can do it the forum for which that's intended- completely agree with the OP.

Agree that the 100% forum should be food free - personally I don't have a problem seeing people talking about food in general (planned break, slip up, food porn!), or talking about it myself, but definitely think there should be a sanctuary for the 100%ers.

That said I think SS+ers and 810 people are in a funny position too. They're neither 100% nor any of the higher steps, so they need to talk about food, but may not want to be faced with talk of pizzas, booze and currys, for example!

I don't think the "food mentioned" label is necessary - in the main CD forum food HAS to be talked about because it's an essential part of life when we leave the diet and our relationships with it generally, and with specific foods, need to be aired. I bet you nearly every thread on the main CD forum has some sort of reference to conventional foods in it, so it's kind of hard to avoid!

I've been reading this again. And I definitely agree that the 100% forum should be that. But somebody asked if this meant 100% SS or would it include folk doing the 100% of the other plans where food is allowed. I'd like to know that too.

i think the wording on the forum header is that it's for people who are 100% on any plan, including the 'with food' options.

there is a 100% SS only forum (for people on al VLCDs, not just CD) which you have to ask in order to join - but it is tumbleweed city in there. Possibly because no one knows about the forum / can't be faffed to ask to join / you can't see it even exists if you're on the mobile phone version of the site.

The 100% section clearly says that official food ie plain chicken is allowed in it. However unfortunately people still seem to think that posting about Chinese pizza and cupcakes is acceptable in there. iTS NOT

If anyone sees a post with food mentioned please flag it up and it'll be moved.

    Just for the record....

I believe that this thread was started as a result of a post titled 'Chinese' that was put into the 100% forum. I genuinely think that the person hadn't realised they had put it in the wrong place. There are a lot of newbie's around at the minute who are still navigating their way around the site and posting in the wrong section can be an easy mistake to make.
I replied to the original post as this is supposed to be a 'support' forum and the person obviously posted because they seeked support. Not scrutiny for posting in the wrong place.
I realise that 100% forum shouldn't contain food but I wasnt going to ignore the post when someone was reaching out for help.
I am quite annoyed and upset by some of the posts in THIS thread :-(

Thats fair enough to reply but the thread was about Chinese food which is obviously clearly against the 100% rules which is why it was moved.

I dont think its unreasonable to ask people to stick to the rules, as a matter of fact the 100% section was created at the request of forum members due to the volume of food related threads in the main forum.

Id agree that replying to a thread in there IS the right thing to do but also maybe highlight to the OP or whoever has posted re food that its not the place to do it.

I can sympathise with this thread. I started 810 yesterday and already I've noticed the temptations everywhere!
    • Queuing up at the Sainburys petrol station along an aisle lined with trays of sweets
    • Watching my colleagues eat breakfast at their desks
    • Watching those same colleagues eat lunch at their desks
    • Watching those same colleagues graze constantly throughout the day (bangs head on desk at this point)
    • Having to cook a normal meal for my wife while I carefully weigh out 275g of Quorn and three tablespoons of veg.

I'm just trying to think thin thoughts and regard food as a minor inconvenience :)

Hi I think the 100% thread is for anyone sticking to their plan it doesnt matter which one you are on but I do feel that someone on a with food plan would be rather insensitive to post any food related threads x
