Finally getting round to starting a food diary - have been on and off SW for the past few weeks - hopefully posting here will encourage me to stick at it!

I think this website is great I have gathered some great recipies and meal ideas. You are all very supportive of each other - please let me know if I am going wrong somewhere.

EE Day:

Breakfast: Porridge with raspberries (HXB)

Snack: Banana

Lunch: SW leek and potato soup

Dinner: Chicken marinated with Nando's sauce, rice and roasted veg (mushrooms, onions and peppers) (3 syns?)

Snack: grapes and 4 x milkado (4 syns)

Drinks: Tea (HEXA), sugar free dilute juice, water

Thursday 9th Sept

Green Day today:

Breakfast: Pear, 2 x wholemeal toast (HEXB), 2 x poached eggs, tomato ketchup, low fat marg (2 syns)

Lunch: grapes, leftover veg rice with handful of chicken (HEB)

Snack: strawberries with tspn nutella (2 syns)

Dinner: 3 x quorn sausages, SW chips, beans and cheese (HEXA) + butternut squash (random but had to be used up!)

Snack: 2 x tesco jaffa cakes (4 syns)

Drinks: Tea (HEXA), sprite zero, water

Syns: 8

Green Day:

Weetabix with milk and sweetner (HEXA+B)

Banana, Pear, Grapes, 2x milkado (1 syn)

(Went out for a late lunch/dinner) mashed potatoes, turnip and carrots, broccoli and cauliflower with tbspn cheese sauce (guessing 8 syns to be on the safe side)

1 + 1/2 dry white wine (6 syns)

2 slices wholemeal bread (HEXB)

Strawberries and tbspn light aerosol cream (1 syn)

Tea and water

Syns: 16

Red Day:

Pear, bran flakes, tea (HEXA + HEXB)

Banana

Beef Casserole (2 syns for gravy), strawberry muller

2 x alpen light (HEXB)

Meatballs with onion gravy, cauliflower and broccoli (2 syns)

Strawberries with aersol cream (0.5 syns)

Small bar of dairy milk (Couldnt resist!!) :17729: (10 syns)
Drinks: tea, water and 1 can diet coke

Syns: 14.5

Hey :) Stumbled across your diary and thought I'd pop in and be a bit pedantic :p I really appreciate it when people pick out teeny things on mine as it gets me thinking 'oh I can't possibly slip in that I've had full fat mayo instead of extra light mayo cause someone will notice, and I don't want to lie cause I'll be lying to myself, so I might aswell get up and get the EL bottle out!' :D

Thursday - 2 syns for ketchup and low fat marg??? Just checking - are you measuring the quantities as you're having them? Same goes for the handful of chicken... measured or estimated? Tspn Nutella - level or rounded? I used to weigh out 5g for 1 syn, spread it onto my scan bran, then accidentally lick the knife. Doh! More syns! And your late lunch/dinner on Sat, do you know how it was cooked? 8 syns sounds like an okay estimate :) but imagine if you'd made that at home! Could have been free, pretty much, as you can have two HExAs aswell so could have made the sauce with 42g reduced fat cheese :)

Hi Ali thanks for the comments - any help keeping me on track is appreciated! :D

Ok for the ketchup I had a tbspn which I think is 1, and for the marg had a tspn - was probably a bit more rounded should I add another syn?
Chicken was estimated :eek: will start measuring from now on!
For the nutella I read that it was 4 for a tbspn so I halved it for the level tspn would that be about right?
Yep I checked and got mine without butter :D

Hey today was a red day, started off okay but think I overdid it with the syns towards the end :(, so will cut back on them tomorrow:

Banana, tea

Fruit + fibre (HEXA), Pear

4 x milkado (2 syns)

Beef Casserole with leeks, onions, mrooms and carrots, gravy (2 syns)

WW chocolate eclair (5 syns)

Gammon (all visible fat removed) with tbspn honey (3 syns) broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes done with fry light (just over 100g - 3 small pots)

Magnum - 13 syns :eek:

Diet Coke, water, low sugar squash

Syns: 25!!! :sigh:

Bit of a bad day yesterday and went over on the syns, buit starting afresh today!! Joined a gym as well - going later today for my first session.

So far today:

2 x quorn sausages, 2 poached eggs, some baked beans and 1 slice wholemeal toast (1/2 HEB)

2 x tea (HEA)

Goodness can't believe its been so long since I posted! :eek: I've been on and off plan in the last while, managed to lose a bit though - im down to 11st 4lbs. I have also started running (well trying to!lol) I've been trying to build it up - running for a few minutes + then walking for 1 etc but its tough going! :)

Anyay I'm determined to start doing it properly so here goes!

Monday - Extra Easy

Breakfast

2 x wholemeal bread (HEXB)
Baked beans
1.5 teaspoons low fat flora (2 syns)
Lots of grapes

Lunch

Tuna pasta bake (with broccoli, onion, garlic, red pepper, passata)
28g light cheese (HEXA)
