LL office closed

Thanks to those who offered to share their packs with me - very kind and much appreciated. Thankfully I can now get them direct from LL so I won't need to take you up on your generous offers to help. But thanks again. :grouphugg:

I have e-mailed the LL office to ask why they are charging us the full £66 when, by their own admission,

'Integral to this process (LL programme) are the tools you use each week: the Foodpacks, the group structure, the weekly activities and, of course your LighterLife Counsellor'. (Letter from LL Head Office dated 24th July 2007).

I quoted this section to them in my e-mail pointing our that we had neither foodpacks, nor group structure, nor weekly activities and our LLC has abandoned us and querying therefore how they can be charging us the full price.

I also pointed out that the £66.00 included the LLC profit margin (this is what our LLC told us at the start). Given that we have no LLC who is getting the profit? - or is that a stupid question? I will be interested to see how, or if, they will respond.

I think that they think they have us over a barrell - and I suppose they do to some degree particualry as the CD bod locally is proving elusive in the extreme!!

I am beginning to think that 'Ye Gods' are working against me and trying to push me back towards 'Lardsville'!!!

But I am hanging in there - fingers crossed.

Cambridge Diet

I have decided to take advice given and look to switching to the CD given the problems with LL and the fact that they still want to charge £66.00 a week for what I regard as only half of their advertised service.

So I checked the CD website and got the name and contact details of the chap in our area. So far I have been unsuccessful in getting any response despite having sent an e-mail and telephoned three times.

So I decided to take the advice given by one of you Mimiminners and rang the Cambridge head office. They re-directed me to their 0800 office and so I rang there.

I waited and waited and waited for a response and eventually this chap answered who sounded very rushed and impatient. When he answered the phone I couldn't even hear what he said and had to check that I had the right number.

I told him that I wanted details of the CDC in my area and off he went leaving me hanging on for about 5 minutes. When he came back he was clearly looking on a list. He asked who I had tried to contact and I told him and he said "Oh that is the only one we have registered". I asked if that person was still operating as a CDC and he said "Well, his name is still here" and that was that ...................

I persisted with my enquiry in spite of what I considered an unhelpful response and told him that I had rang the chap and e-mailed without sucess. He had no response to that apart from "well that is the only name we have".

I am gobsmacked!!!!!!!!!

I'm really sorry you've had your LL course shut down.
Mr Mindless (I think) suffered a similar thing during the spring when his LLC retired or moved. I'mbeing a bit presumptouos here but he's a super chap & extremely comitted to vlcd. I'm sure he'll be happy to comiserate/ advise if you contact him.

also sorry about CD Head office. I've always found them to be bend-over-backwards helpful.
ditto that you find a cdc. Mine (& in theory all CDC's) has flexibility as her middle name (along with supportive & cheery).
The hols season is upon us, also the floods. Do you think the chap you were after was away/phone broken?
