Hi, I'm relatively new so please bear with me!
I'm in my first year at uni, and I'm in halls. Upsides: great people, 24 hour parties.
Downsides: it's catered and so much cheap junk food round here.
Now, my main point of this thread was to highlight my dilemma at the lack of control, being in catered halls, that I have. Just for the record, I did request self-catered but no one seems to get what they actually ask for in these accommodation applications!
It's mainly dinner that I'm having my issues with. Breakfasts were cooked full englishes usually, so I've resorted to buying in my own cereal/fruit and having that for breakfasts. Lunch is for another topic. Dinner is what I cannot control.
One day its fish and red sauce, pasta and veggies (like I had today) and others its fatty curries and chips with fatty puddings.
I cannot keep buying my own food to cook for dinners as I simply cannot afford it, at £94 a week, I'm paying for the privilege of this food, but sometimes it's a real gripe.
Also, the food isn't always the nicest, so I end up wanting to snack from 8pm onwards. It's awful.
So, I was just wondering, those of you who cannot control your food so much, what the frell do you do? I am stuck
