Losing weight the JUDDD way ...

Hello all, I hope that you dont mind me starting a diary. I am starting juddd tmrw officially, so I will post my weight etc then. Can someone tell me please if this sounds okay for my plan. mon : DD, tues : UD weds : DD, thurs : UD, fri : DD, sat : UD and sund : medium day. I am planning to weigh in in the morning then each tuesday starting from next week so this is always after a down day. I am undecided if I am going to count cals on the UD's, I probably should so I know I am defo having a medium day on sundays. I am doing the 25% weight-loss mode so I am allowed on a DD 518 and on an up day 2070. what I may do is stick to 500 or less on a dd, dont count on an up day and stick to 1300 on sundays. or should I count on updays. hmmm. anyway thanks for reading and I look forward to chatting! xx

Hi and welcome. You sound like you have a good plan. That is the way most of us do it. No need to count on UDs unless you find yourself going OTT and need to keep a track. UDs are supposed to be normal days so that you don't feel deprived but not an excuse to go wild and eat all the calories you would normally plus the ones you missed the day before! It's important to have what you want otherwise it will feel like a normal deprivation diet but eat only until you are satisified. Good luck... enjoy!

Yes very much. It still requires determination to get me through the DDs without cracking! I get hungriest in the evening so save most of my cals for then but also drinking more helps too. Going to bed hungry is not such a bad thing and you rarely wake up hungry next day. The feeling of a successful DD is wonderful and the more you do JUDDD consistently have the quicker it is reflected in the scales. I would like to think I could do a DD at the weekend but it rarely works as there is more going on socially and less to keep the mind busy so Mon, Wed, Fri seems to work well. You can swap days around too so long as they don't all become UDs!

Welcome to juddd!!! Sounds like you have the week sorted. Let us know how it all goes and if you have any questions just ask, one of us will be able to help, hopefully lol!!!

Have fun on your up days, but just don't go too over the top. On down days it's always easier to leave eating as long as poss.

Stirky - thats exactly what im doing, trying to hold off as long as I possibly can. Im really excited about this diet, I have tried them all, ww, cd, sw,sf and Im the worst for self sabotage and trying to bend the rules etc.

morning! I weighed in today at 14st1.8 :( I would love to be 13st6 by xmas which means I would need to lose 9.1lbs with the next 4 weigh in's.
That sounds totally possible, good luck x

Woohoo Stirky thanks for having faith in me! heehee! so far I have had : 1 slice ww bread toasted (49 cals) lowfat cheese triangle (26) 2 x 10 cal soups (20) and a ww yoghurt (48) grand total of 143! not bad. Just a few quick questions, should I be starting on the 20% or the 25%. my 25% dd is 518 and I think the 20% is like 415 :( I was just gonna stick to 500. Also when you lose weight do you go back on the site and put in your news stats. (sorry my question mark doesn't want to work lol).

Best to start at 20% if you want quicker results, but staying at 500cals on down days and it'll shift those lbs, so i wouldn't worry too much. Yes I've been back to thesite and put in my new stats, but tbh I'm not too worried about that, I'm still sticking with 500cal dd's :)

ok just back with an update : I had a salad all weighed etc of lettuce tomato & cucumber for 29 cals with 32 cals of dressing and a skinny cow hot choc 37 cals brings my total to 241. later on I will be having stir fry veg 92 cals with prawns 66cal sf jelly 36cal and 2 rich tea fingers for 22 cals each later. oh and probably another 10 cal soup bringing my days total to 489 :D

Yes I always like my dd's better than the ud's, they make you feel in control and that you can really do this! Plus they are not as bad as you first think, good luck :)

Doing well today! I'm having stir fry beansprouts later!! I love stir fry, great for a dd :)

That all sounds excellent and you are eating some really good things and lots too for few calories. I am so lazy I must copy your example and eat more low cal stuff on DDs. No need for hunder all day for sure. Well done.

Ahhhh I cheated lastnight! I ate about an extra 500 calories. I had swapped my evening snack on the 2 rich teas and 10 cal soup for one of the new options indulgance hit chocs and that was fine, still under my allowanc but then my oh went to bed and I was tired and I knew I shoulda went aswell bu I stayed up and when I'm tired, I'm hungry :( the scales were still good to me this morning though so Im gonna continue, my plan Is to take 500 off Sundays medium day leaving me with 800? Would that work ? X

You didn't completely blow it so well done. Sounds like more of a MD. If I do get hungry in the evening (also worst time for me) I have a cup of decaf tea and it usually knocks the edge off it or one chocolate with it but oh that is so hard to have just one. Get to bed is my best strategy - out of harms way!

Thanks Hoe you are right it coulda been worst. I'll stick with my 800 cals on Sunday. I'm on my upday today and yesterday I was constantly thinking about all the bad things I could eat etc and today, this will sound mad, but I don't even fancy them really! I had a White choc and strawberry muffin and there's another in the fridge which I would normally just eat but I'm happy with one!
