Low Carb Gravy ??

Hi everyone, I wanted some gravy for tea and was amazed how many carbs there are in store bought gravy mixes. Do I have to give up gravy or has anyone any ideas, thanks in anticipation, Debra :sigh:

I haven't tried it, but you could try and make your own with stock. Xantham gum is used as a thickener in low carb cooking. They sell it in tubes on the "free from" aisle in Sainsburys.

Bisto Beef Gravy granules have 2.3g of carbs per 50ml, and 2.8g in their Bisto Best Beef Granules

Thanks for the reply Tristar, I will go to Sainsbury's and get Xantham as I have heard of this before. It's just that I didn't really give gravy a second thought until I looked at the label WOW, thanks, Debra :)

use the juices off your roast and just reduce!

Tesco do a fresh chicken stock that's 0.4g for the pot. I just reduce it &, like Vicky says, add the meat juices. Yummy :D
