Male 2nd Time On Lipotrim TFR:

Hi Everybody,

My name is John. I am 31 years old and I am from Ireland. When I was young I was an elite athlete and I took part in numerous sports. When I went into my early 20's and started working/socialising myweight piled up and I have struggled with it ever since. It is fair to say thatI have an unhealthy relationship with food.

I have just gone through my 5th day of Lipotrim - TFR. This is my second time on this diet. I was previous onit in Feb., Mar. and April 2010.

2.5 years ago I did it for 9 weeks followed byre-feed and maintenance. I had researched everything and had mentally preparedmyself. I knew the dangers of what could happen after if I returned to my oldeating habits. I went from 19 Stone 10 Lbs down to 14 Stone 10 Lbs. It was toughgoing but as the weight fell off I became more and more motivated. Some peopledidn't recognise me when they met me for the 1st time in a while. I dideverything to the letter of the law(including the Re-Feed - 1 week andMaintenance - 4 weeks). I stayed off of alcohol and avoided fast food but I wasvery careless in the months after...not being one to make excuses but I had aserious amount of occasions weddings, stag party's, family occasions and dinnerparty's. Having so many occasions in the 2nd half of the year really spurred meon when I was on TFR.

Each occasion usually kicked off with all insundry complimenting me on my great achievement. As time went by I felt myclothes beginning to tighten and I was afraid to weigh myself...this was a hugemistake. 12 months on and I was right back to where I started @19 Stone 10 Lbs.I joined Weight Watchers in June 2011 and I lost 7 Lbs in no time but onceagain the Parties kicked off and I lost my way again. I am currently 20 Stone 3 Lbs. I should have joined Weight Watchers immediatelyafter coming off the Maintenance Program. This time I intend to stay on theprogram for 5/6 weeks followed by the Re-Feed and Maintenance. I'm gettingmarried in 2 months time so I will take a break for a few weeks but I intend onbeing sensible.

When I come back from my Honeymoon I will goback on the Maintenance Program and then I will join Weight Watchers. I willweigh myself everyday - I think this is vital. I knew deep down after comingoff Lipotrim that I had to change my habits from what they had been but afterdoing everything right I lost all respect and ended up going straight back tomy old ways. It was embarrassing but I had to take it on the chin.

Hopefully my previous experience will stand tome. I intend to log my progress on here. If anybody has any questions or needsadvice/tips please do not hesitate to ask.

Hi John :)

Welcome back to Lipotrim and well done for coming back to do it again. It was lovely to be able to read your story. :) I'm on Lipotrim for the second time. I lost seven stone in 2008, but put about four stone back on during pregnancy. I'm in the middle of losing that now. :) Very good luck for your first weigh-in!

Brilliant post, feel like I've known you for years now lol.

Here to help & support in anyway I can. We're all in the same boat so let's pull together and be winning losers :D

Hi John and welcome. I'm on day 3, so far so good. I'm in ireland too:)
Best of luck, you'll feel great on your wedding day with a good few pounds off!

Hi John

I admire your determination to get back to a good weight and potentially better health. This forum is right behind you as we are in it together. All the best with the wedding.

Today is my second day and I feel extremely motivated after reading your determination John. This forum is great for keeping focus and it's so inspiring to see the weight loss people are achieving. Early days for me but going well and feeling positive. Congratulations on your wedding, two months on Lipotrim will make such a difference. All the best...:)

Hi John

Where abouts in Ireland are you? My family are all from Tipperary :) I'm only on week 2 and it is hard but worth it. I think it's that mindset of food = fuel and not food = pleasure.

OMG...Thanks so much for all of your very supportive comments. That has really given me a great lift.

I had my first weigh in today and I was DOWN 9 POUNDS...so I have gone from 20 Stone 3 Lbs to 19 Stone 8 Lbs. I'm very happy with that and hopefully I will be able to maintain it. I only exercised once this week - 4 mile walk. I feel fine when I at home and in work but when I'm out walking about the streets and going to and from the shops I feel slightly faint and dizzy. I feel like I have to steady myself and focus. I told this to the people in the Pharmacy today and they said I couls be drinking too much water which can cause dehydration. I find it hard to drink under 4 litres of water as I always drink copious amounts of it everyday. I will keep more of an eye on my water intake from here on. I will also increase my exercise levels. I will start with a couple of long walks this weekend.

@kimberleyanddarren - I'm from Dublin.

OMG...Thank to each and every one ye for the wonderful comments...I have got a massive life from reading them.

I had my 1st weigh in last Thursday...I was down 9 Pounds. I now weigh 19 Stone 8 Pounds. I started at 20 Stone 3 Pounds...I was happy with this start. Hopefully I can keep it going. I told the pharmacy that I felt slightly dizzy and faint when I was out and about. They said that I might have been drinking too much water which can lead to dehydration...I always drink copious amounts of water so I actually find it very hard to drink 4 or under...This might seem strange but it's true.

Today is my 9th day. It's Saturday and I was off work so I just chilled out today...I was going to go for a walk but I felt great just being around the house so I just chilled out. It feels great to have 9 days down...I compare the first few days to a plane taking off. It up and up and then ketosis kicks in. I think I must be addicted to food because I still have massive cravings for certain foods that I have not eaten in a long time. Boredom is also an issue. I really I can have 9 or more pounds by the time I weigh in next Thursday.

@kimberleyanddarren I am from Dublin...

I actually replied to this thread on Thursday night but my response never appeared... :(

I have food cravings all the time and like you say, for things I haven't had in a long time. They just pop into my head or rather I feel I can taste them but unfortunately not, it's just my mind playing games

Motivated boy I am from Dublin too, did you watch the match today

Yes watched it...It was a disappointing but it took my mind off food completely while it was on...It was heart stopping stuff at the end!!! I feel great a nice relaxing weekend. I have 10 days done now and to be honest it flew by.

I left the room and was pacing the hallway lol. Glad to hear the days are flying in

Week 2 Over...Down another 6 pounds...

I got weighed last Thursday and I had lost another 6 Lbs...I now weigh 19 Stone 2 Pounds. I started at 20 Stone 3 Pounds...so I have lost 15 Lbs in total over 2 weeks.

I'm slightly disappointed to be honest. The 1st time I did TFR I lost 1 Stone 8 Pounds in the first 2 weeks but I was doing a lot of walking then...I have done very little exercise this time but I am going to change that. I feel empty and bored at times so I intend doing more exercise to combat this.

I will stay on TFR for another 3/4 weeks...The boredom of not eating and the hit/buzz/high that it brings has weakened my spirits at times...I think I must have an addiction...Pure and Simple. I could stay on TFR for as long as I can but I want be back to some normality before I get married.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed with my first week loss but realised that 6lb is good really as other diets probably would have produced a 2/3lb loss. Your loss is good John and will be an inspiration to many. The weekends can be difficult - I'm meeting friends today, but will stick with black coffee and water, I'll think long term and see myself slim! They'll be 'lunching' and probably on the wine!

I hope you have a good weekend and don't be too harsh on yourself. Look forward to seeing what you lose next weigh in...happy weekend :D

Sorry for not posting sooner. I had my 3rd weigh in on September 13th...and I lost another 6 Lbs (that's 21 Lbs in total)...I was off on Holidays last week (a staycation) it was brilliant. I just relaxed and chilled out. I didn't get weighed as I could not get to my Pharmacy. I have another weigh in this Thursday...my last before I start re-feeding on Friday. I have had a great 5 weeks. I feel like I have a lot more energy and my body feels much more cleaner and healthier.

I have just read this for the first time but really well done on your overall losses and good luck for Thursday. It sounds like you have LT nailed and its a huge motivator for me to hear things like "More energy" and "body feels cleaner and healthier". Thankyou.

I had my final weigh in (a double weigh in) yesterday before I started Re-Feeding today. I lost a further 11 Lbs over 2 weeks. I started at 20 Stone 3 Lbs and I bow weigh 17 Stone 13 Lbs. I have lost 2 Stone 5 Lbs in 5 weeks.

I started Re-Feeding today. For Breakfast I had a Maintenance Vegetable Shake. For Lunch I had a Maintenance Bar. For Dinner I had 1 Chicken Fillet and a Salad consisting of Lettuce, Pepper & Onion with a Lemon juice dressing. It tasted amazing. My stomach feels a slight bit tender after eating.

Amazing, MotivatedBoy! :) Huge well done and have a lovely time re-feeding.

I finished my re-feed week last Thursday 04th October. I was over the moon to find out at my weigh in that I had lost another 5 Lbs during my re-feed week. I stuck to the plan everyday and I am now continuing with the maintenance program. After 6 weeks(5 on TFR) I now weigh 17 Stone 8 Pounds. I was 20 Stone 3 Pounds 3 Lbs starting off on August 24th. I have lost 2 Stone 9 Lbs in total. I'm in great form and I have far more energy. I'm getting married 3 weeks today...I can't wait. I still have a lot of weight to lose but this has really taken the bloated/puffy/fat/pasty look of my face and my body.

It was not easy at the start but I stuck at it. The headaches and empty downtrodden feeling is inevitable but it passes and once you see that you are losing weight and when you feel your clothes getting looser your confidence and momentum will grow day by day. Drinking water really does help. Make sure to monitor your consumption.

I stuck to a chocolate shake in the morning (usually at 11.30/11.45/12.00) and a chicken soup shake at tea time (usually 6.30/6.45/7.00). The chocolate shake should be made with ice and cold water. Obviously mix it up thoroughly. I love the chicken soup...It has a wholesome taste and it really hit the spot with me. It raised my spirits everyday. I used to mix it in my shaker and I then boiled it in a pot on the hob.

I have now just washed some jeans and shirts that I haven't worn in over 2 years. I tried them on and they fit me comfortably...This is such an amazing feeling. Life is good...I had to go through the pain barrier but it was well worth it. I know I have to be careful but I had a plan and I stuck to it. You can too.

Regards
MotivatedBoy
