Mancunian in Kansas (Food Diary: A countdown to my 'second' wedding this year!)

    Firstly, I should clarify that I'm not on my second husband for 2014 (I'm hoping to hold on to him for a little longer than that!)

    As explained in my intro thread earlier, I'm a previous MiniMins member, who is returning after moving from the UK to the USA to marry my (now) husband. However, this meant that when we married in January 2014, I didn't get to have any of my family there, and it was just a low-key, quick courthouse job *sob*

    So, my lovely parents have decided that they're going to go all out, and pay for us to have the big day we didn't get to have first time round - the white dress, the reception, etc. And it's going to be on December 27th 2014, so I've got to get a wriggle on if I want to be a skinny-minny!

    So, to try and hold me accountable, I'm going to try and check in and keep a food diary on here. I really dislike the food diary on the USA Slimming World website, but I'll be keeping both up for a while.

    Let's hope Kansas City barbecue doesn't get the better of me this time around! ;)

    Thursday 27th February

    Well, that's Day 1 down and I think it was reasonably successful, considering how long it's been since I last did Slimming World. Unfortunately, due to the absolute boredom of being unable to work in the USA currently, I slept in until lunch time and didn't actually have a breakfast... ooopsie.


    2 x Eggs, scrambled
    2 x Slices Turkey Bacon (1 syn each)
    1/2 cup Bush's Maple Bacon Cured Beans (1.5 syns)
    1 x slice of wholemeal bread (1/2 HEXB)
    Chopped mushrooms, red bell peppers, tomatoes with dried herbs (fried w/ cooking spray)


    Broccoli & Beef (2.5 syns)
    Boiled White Rice


    Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt
    Beef Jerky (3 syns)
    2 x Rye Crispbreads (1/2 HEXB)
    2 x Laughing Cow Light Triangles (HEXA)

    Total Syns: 9

    It's a little confusing for me because I've got both the older books from Slimming World UK, and the Slimming World USA pdf files, so trying to cross reference some of them is losing me a little - I think some of the HEX values might be different but I'm pretty close so I'm not going to worry too much.

    Also, did a proper shop with my husband and got so much lovely fresh produce - I'm really excited to get going properly on this! (Only half of the healthy stuff we bought, now to make sure we use all the veggies/fruit up before they go bad!)
