march challenge!

1ib off for me this week, think another 13lbs off by end of march may have been slightly optimistic but will plod on!

Well done guys :)

I want to start jogging but I'm nervous because of my size. Is it ok to jog when I'm this big?


I always thought that I was way too big to do any sort of running but if you google 'couch to 5k' and try it the schedule they describe you might be surprised.

I've been doing it a week now and the first day killed me but I am already noticing an improvement, and strangely enough I enjoy it!

In the first week you walk for about 5 minutes then jog for a minute and walk for 90 seconds. But if you feel like that is too much walk for a bit longer in between, after a week I don't think im ready to up the amount of jogging so I'll stick with week one again. It's all about going at your own pace, theres plenty of threads on here about it if you search for it.

You could try exercising that is low impact if you are worried about causing more harm than good, a cheap exercise bike is a good way to start and build up a bit of stamina.

Thank you For that fab advice! And well done for starting jogging, it's a great achievement to just get out the door, so great effort on ur part.

I'll deco be trying walk/ jog approach. I'll just take it steady. I brought a pedometer and I want to increase my steps to near 10000 a day. So just walking will b good too.

Also some good news! I havnt been weighed for a few weeks and I just had my wi..... I've lost 14lbs!!!! So I've changed my target to 20lbs

I'm soooooo pleased I can't tell you!

Congratulations!!! That's fantastic, I'm happy my advice helped you. If you do try it don't worry about going slow, you definitely will not be alone, I'm on my 5th jog/walk/run and I'm still doing the week one schedule, which should have been over in three days!

I think you're right To take it slow... Tailor the plan to suit you. That's how I see it. It doesn't matter if u do wk one for ages... It's all exercise. Good on you for doing it! Keep it up! Uve certainly spurred me on :) xx

If you know you have been good then its safe to say its more likely to be a fluctuation in your weight, I weigh myself every day, I know I shouldnt but I don't let the fluctuations bother me too much. On sunday I lost two pounds, but then on monday I had apparently put them two pounds back on and one more, then again on Tuesday I was four pounds down!

Don't be disheartened! Keep at it! Try keeping an eye on the inches you lose and measure yourself every month or so.
 
Thanks Jayne it's just so annoying but I'm back on it tomorrow I've just had chips and egg cause I'm fed up but I've realised I want to be slim more than I want fattening foods:).x

Well dont beat yourself up because you ate chips, everything in moderation and all that!

Put them carbs to good use tomorrow!

The phrase 'nothing tastes as good as slim feels' is much, much, easier said than done!

Have you thought about a food diary? If you already have one maybe try writing a tiny description about how you feel when you eat, like you ate egg and chips because you were fed up about not losing weight. Keeping it up for a week might surprise you about what you realise at the end of the week.
 
Hi, yes I do keep a food diary on my fitness pal but I don't write how I'm feeling, think I will do though now you've mentioned it, it might help me in future, thankyou.xxxxx
