Just wondering if anyone knows if you can take any cough medicines, lemsips, throat lozenges etc, I have woken up today, with a throat like razor blades, and a cough that might dislodge a lung!! I wouldnt normaly bother with the risk of taking anything, but i honestly dont think im going to be able to get through this without any help. :ambulance:

I think you need to watch out for the sugar in anything you do take. Having said that if I felt dire I'd take the chance as it's not like you will be having hundreds.

Don't take anything with sugar in (including lemsip and most throat sweets). You can have sugar free cough mixture (mainly aimed at diabetics but ok for anyone). Also, you can have cold/flu tablets.

Yes, I had to take cold/flu meds first few days of starting. I also had strepsils and I dont think they were sugar free. If you can get sugar free take that but if you are really bad and don't want to go out, take what you have at home. Stay warm and keep up your liquids!

PS Feel better soon!
