I only have mince in the house. Quorn and regular lean. I need some ideas. No chili, bolognase, burgers or taco stuff please! I do have potatoes, rice and pasta. Veg is mostly onion, carrots and broccoli for super free. I do also have tinned tomatoes. I'm normally pretty creative but I'm too tired today!

My mum used to make this potato and mince beef "thing".. i dont have the exact measurements but i remember what was in it and what it looked like.

She browned off some mince and onion, added some tinned tomatoes and dried mixed herbs (kinda like a bolognese mix) with some mushrooms and peppers. You could always change the mix to mince beef, onion and gravy as aposed to tomato based sauce.

Then once the mix was cooked, she then peeled potatoes and sliced them thinly. Then she layered the mince, then potato, then mince (kinda like a lasagne but with no pasta) and the last layer was mince with some grated cheese ontop.

It then went into the oven for around 45 mins until the spuds were cooked, it was yummy!

We had the 'Ragu Parpadelle' from the magazine a few months ago.

Soften onion and garlic, and then add mince and brown the mince. add 1 tsp cinnamon and up to 1 tsp of chilli flakes - depends how hot you like it! I only added a 1/4tsp and that was enough for us. add tin of chopped tomatoes and season. ( recipe also wanted passata - but didnt have any!)
simmer until all cooked and serve over tagliatelle pasta or parpadelle ( or what ever pasta you have)
